The 2026 Texas Sprint Racing Series hosted the fourth round of the schedule over the August 28-30 weekend, visiting the KartMoto circuit in Cresson, Texas. The championship matched its high entry total of the season, reaching 190 in total for the International Kart Federation and Superkarts! USA regional categories, along with a special prize package on the weekend for the new T4 Senior division.

A total of four drivers were able to sweep the weekend, including the headline KA100 Senior presented by Kart CRG USA. Former series champion Peyton Phillips returned to the top step of the podium with a second victory in 2026. The Round One victor set a fast time of 49.094 in qualifying, edging out Sawyer Roussel by 49 thousandths in the session. Phillips led all but one lap on his way to the win in Heat One before going wire-to-wire in the other two heat races. Phillips continued the momentum into the main event, leading all 21 laps to secure the victory by over one second. Gage Bailey was able to win the battle for second with fast lap of the race ahead of Koen Summers, Round Two winner Landon Skinner and defending champion Jose Carlos Hernandez.

Multiple drivers were in the mix for Briggs 206 Senior presented by Kart Racing Solutions. Two-time 2026 winner Carter Kilgo led the way in qualifying, recording a 55.054 to clear the 31-driver field in the session. Three different drivers came out of the three heat races with a win. Camryn Reed scored the opening win while Jacob Oliver took the second heat before Kilgo kept the top spot in the third moto. The 19-lap Final began with Oliver jumping to the lead from row two, leading the first four circuits until Reed took over. She led the way until prior to the white flag when Oliver reclaimed the top spot. Through the final circuit, Reed took back the lead however it became a three wide run to the finish line with Reed, Oliver and Jeff Dolian up from seventh. At the line, Dolian secured the victory as he beat Oliver to the line by 21 thousandths with Reed crossing in third. Jaxon Young and Josey Chambers completed the top five.

Nicolas Orbezo was able to record a second double win weekend on the season in the two Junior categories. It was a near sweep for Orbezo in KA100 Junior presented by P1 Engines. Round One winner Nathan Golseth set the quick time in qualifying, clearing the 25 driver field by over two tenths. Orbezo was second in the order, winning the battles in all three heat races for the pole position in the Final. The first four laps of the 21-lap main event were led by Orbezo before the early battle began. Golseth and Aston Wyatt each took a turn at the point before Orbezo returned to the lead by lap nine. From there, Orbezo led the remainder of the race to secure his second victory of the season. Wyatt recorded a second runner-up finish on the year with Golseth in third. Alex Chandler had fast lap of the race in fourth with Round Three winner Easton Cox in fifth.

The action in Briggs 206 Junior presented by Orsolon Racing Texas ended in a photo finish. Round Three winner Aston Wyatt secured fast time in qualifying, clearing the 22-driver field by over two tenths in the session. Three different drivers came away with a heat race win, including Clayton Stiles, Round Two winner Nico Orbezo and Round One victor Sawyer Chambers. Orbezo and Chambers earned the front row starting spots. From the pole position, Orbezo jumped out to the lead and was followed by Chambers and Dean Gerrior. With two laps remaining, Gerrior moved up into second and was able to challenge Orbezo to the checkered flag. At the line, Orbezo took the checkered flag by 37 thousandths to complete the wire-to-wire victory. Gerrior settled for second with Alex Chandler and Stiles able to work past Chambers at the line.

Hi5 Performance KA100 Master division welcomed its largest field of the season at 17 drivers. Round Three winner Daniel Howie recorded a lap of 50.340 to edge out Nathan Stewart for fast time in qualifying. Three different drivers won the heat races with Stewart grabbing the first while Howie kept the top spot in Heat Two. The final heat was won by Shane Burkett. The 20-lap main event began with Howie and Burkett leading the field to the green flag. Burkett was shuffled down to seventh over the opening lap as Howie retained the top spot. He led the first 16 laps until Burkett was able to charge his way forward with fast laps of the race, taking over the lead. Burkett led the final four circuits to claim his first victory of the season, becoming the fourth different winner in 2026. Howie settled for second with Kyle Piepenbrok recording his first podium of the season. Randall Rogers and former champion Miguel Mier completed the top five.

T4 Senior class presented by Tillotson Racing featured its largest entry total on the season at 13 drivers, thanks to the special prize package on the weekend. The event winner earned a two-day team test with RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate in a Toyota GR Cup car. Kaden Harter was the driver leading the way in qualifying with a time of 53.683 ahead of Round Two winner Derek Wargo. From there, it was all Wargo at the front of the field. Wargo went on to win all three heat races and led green-to-checkered for the victory, winning by over two seconds. Noah Rosser was second ahead of Round Three winner Ragan Saville. Emmett Eddolls and Harder rounded out the top five.

Briggs 206 Cadet presented by Skeptic Motorsports welcomed its fourth different winner on the season. Round Two winner Drew Blehm was the driver with fast time in qualifying with the top four separated by only 62 thousandths. The three heat races were led by three different drivers with Hayden Simpson and Marshall Steves earning the first two wins before Blehm held on for the third heat win. Simpson and Steves led the field to the green flag for the 19-lap main event. It was Simpson leading the first 16 laps before Blehm took over the point until the final lap. Mikey Todd worked his way up into second and was able to win the drag race to the checkered flag, reaching the line first by 25 thousandths for his first series victory. Sampson was third behind the top two with Steves fourth and Liam Haswell in fifth.

In his second series start of the season, Dutch Westbrook was able to complete the sweep on the weekend in Mini Swift presented by Alan Rudolph Racing Academy. A lap of 52.944 cleared the 12 driver field by over a half second. After winning all three heat races, Westbrook led all 19 laps to score the victory by over 14 seconds. Sebastian Sampson won the battle for second ahead of Landry Bridges and Polo Santos while fifth place was Eyitayo Olisa.

Shepp Sullivan was able to break up the win streak by Dusty Strayer in Micro Swift presented by Arcane Motorsports. Sullivan posted fast lap of qualifying and won the opening heat race before Strayer went to the lead in the final two heat races to secure the pole position for the Final. Sullivan jumped out to the front at the start of the 18-lap main event before Cohen Scott took over. Scott led eight laps before Sullivan reclaimed the top spot while Cohen slipped out of the top five. From there, Sullivan led the rest of the distance, taking his first victory of the season by over two seconds. Strayer settled for second with Baron Chen recording a season best finish of third. Hartford Ellis and Jude Hendrickson completed the top five.

Briggs 206 Kid Karts presented by GR2 Motorsports division saw Maverick Reddick record a fourth straight victory. The weekend was a third sweep of 2026 as Reddick finished P1 in every on track session from qualifying, the three heat races and winning the Final by five seconds. Hal Byrd was second with Dallas Broussard in third. Santiago Salazar was fourth with Grayson Hollis in fifth.

The 2026 season for the Texas Sprint Racing Series will come to a close over the September 25-27 weekend when the program hosts to Fall Finale at the Speedsportz Racing Park in New Caney, Texas. Registration is currently open for the fifth and final round of the championship.
