CKNA North Division Concludes Season at Norway Motorsports Park
Third stop and final two rounds of racing for flagship Cup Karts North America program
The final stop on the 2026 Cup Karts North America North Division took the program to the Norway Motorsports Park for the final two rounds of the championship chase. The Sheridan, Illinois facility was host to Round Five and Round Six of the series with picture perfect weather for the seven Briggs & Stratton categories that competed around the 7/10-mile course with four double winners on the weekend.
Nick Ksobiech was among the four drivers to pick up two wins in their respective categories, taking top spot both days in Senior Heavy. Connor Lund secured the RLV Fastest Qualifier award before Ksobiech took over. Winning both heat races by slim margins, Ksobiech was able to lead all 12 laps to beat out Michael Dittmer by 66 thousandths at the line. Lund was third on the podium. Sunday began with Kyle Kohmar edging Ksobiech by 30 thousandths for fast time in qualifying to claim the RLV Fastest Qualifier award. Dittmer however came up from third to win the heat race. He led the first 12 laps of the Feature before Ksobiech took over, claiming a second victory on the weekend. Dittmer was second with Lohmar placing third. The two wins helped Ksobiech to earn all six wins on the season in the category.

The weekend welcomed two new winners on the season in Senior Medium. Nick Ksobiech was winless in the category over the first four rounds, making Round Five a sweep. Ksobiech set fast time in qualifying for the RLV Fastest Qualifier award before winning both heat races. It was a wire-to-wire performance in the Feature, with Ksobiech winning by two tenths over Ashton Wheeler while Dillon Willis joined them on the podium. Ksobiech continued to lead the way on Sunday with the RLV Fastest Qualifier award and winning the lone heat race. After leading the first nine laps, Ksobiech relinquished the top spot to Wheeler. Leading the final laps, Wheeler secured his first victory of the season. Ksobiech settled for second with Willis in third.

Senior Light had two different winners over the weekend as well, beginning with first time winner Patrick Bernatowicz. He set fast time in qualifying for the RLV Fastest Qualifier award but lost the opening heat to Jeremy Mason. Bernatowicz bounced back to the top spot in the second heat before leading all 12 circuits in the Feature for his first victory on the season. Ashton Wheeler was second with fast lap of the race with Mason placing third. Bernatowicz continued at the front of the field with the RLV Fastest Qualifier award and winning the heat race. Wheeler came on late in the race after Bernatowicz led the first 12 laps. Wheeler took over the lead and led the final two circuits to claim a third victory on the season. Bernatowicz settled for second with Logan Lohmar joining them on the podium in third.

The Junior division welcomed a first time winner as Tori Daniels doubled up on the weekend. In her season debut, Daniels was able to sweep the action on Saturday. She earned the RLV Fastest Qualifier award before winning the two heat races. The Feature was a 12-lap battle with Elijah Matson-Vigus as the two exchanged the lead multiple times. At the checkered flag, Daniels scored the victory by 81 thousandths ahead of Matson-Vigus. Brian Thompson complete the podium with all three making their season debut. Matson-Vigus started Sunday as the driver to beat with the RLV Fastest Qualifier award and winning the heat race. Once again it was a battle all throughout the Feature, this time with three drivers taking turns at the lead including Matson-Vigus, Daniels and Thompson. At the line, Daniels was able to secure the victory for a second time on the weekend, edging out Matson-Vigus by 95 thousandths with Thompson in third.

Logan McCloskey was able to sweep the weekend in the Sportsman division. McCloskey earned the RLV Fastest Qualifier award before winning both heat races. The 12-lap Feature was a green-to-checkered performance for McCloskey, holding off Charles Waldvogel for the victory. Vincent Bavuso was third on the podium. Sunday began with McCloskey earning another RLV Fastest Qualifier award before earning the win in the heat race with a last lap move over Luca DeMaria. McCloskey led the first three laps before Vincent Bavuso took over the point in the Feature. He led five laps before McCloskey returned to the lead, showing the way the rest of the distance to earn a second victory on the weekend. Waldvogel was on the podium in second with DeMaria in third.

Weston Kolar was able to secure his first wins of the season in Cadet, sweeping the action on the weekend. Kolar earned the RLV Fastest Qualifier award for Saturday before winning the two heat races. Cole Piccioni led the opening laps of the Feature before Kolar took over, leading the rest of the distance for his first victory on the season. Piccioni and Michael Manduno joined him on the podium. Sunday was a repeat of Sunday with Kolar sweeping the action. The RLV Fastest Qualifier award came before the win in the heat race as Kolar went on to win the Feature for a second victory of the weekend. Piccioni led the opening laps of the main event before settling into second ahead of Manduno.

Two new winners joined the win list on the season for Kid Kart. Round Four winner Will Holzner was the driver out front on Saturday, earning the RLV Fastest Qualifier award before winning both heat races. Reid Yates, however, jumped out to the lead on the opening lap, showing the way for all 10 circuits to claim the victory. Matas Zukauskas was second with Charlie Meurer in third. Holzner once again claimed the RLV Fastest Qualifier award on Sunday before Neil Loehman grabbed the win in the heat race. Loehman and Holzner led the first seven laps of the Feature before the contact dropped them down the order. This put Yates into the lead before he was shuffled down the order. This allowed Zukauskas, who started last, to grab the lead. He led the final two laps for the victory. Dawson McCloskey ended up second with Meurer in third.
The season for the Cup Karts North America North Division is now complete with the year-end championship awards to be presented during the CKNA Grand Nationals 10 weekend, scheduled for October 8-11 at the New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana.
