2026 eKartingNews.com Driver Rankings presented by Stilo USA – Shifterkart – April 22
Renaudin maintains top position now over Morgatto and Urwin
The results for the second edition of the 2026 eKartingNews.com Shifterkart Driver Rankings presented by Stilo USA have been collected, and the new standings have been tabulated. Only four events have been added to the standings, featuring ROK Cup USA, SKUSA, USPKS and Stars events along with shifting the 12-month total. The driver total expanded to 150 with the majority of the positions changing from the March release. One thing remains the same as French driver Adrien Renaudin continues as the #1 driver in the standings.
Velocity Racing / Sodikart driver Renaudin increased his score by 44 points thanks to the a solid three event stint to begin his 2026 campaign in the USA. That also increased his lead to 106 points, now ahead of Velocity Racing / Sodikart teammate Matheus Morgatto who moves up into the second spot thanks to two wins over the same spam. SKUSA Winter Series champion Jay Urwin (PSL Karting / Birelart) has also moved up into the top three, now holding the third position after moving up two spots from last month.
Holding onto the fourth position is defending SKUSA Pro Tour champion Billy Musgrave. The Factory Karts ‘Godfather’ gained a slight increase in the point standings thanks to a fifth place result at the WinterNationals in Tucson, which became his highest point score over the 12-month scale. Falling out of the top three, remaining inside the top five is Gavin Bayliff (Trinity Karting Group / Birelart). The lost of his 2025 WinterNationals victory dropped his score by 67 points, replacing it with a 12th place result in Tucson.
Sixth and seventh place are drivers moving up one position. Justin White (Maranello USA) gained 60 points with an impressive 10th place result at the WinterNationals. Nearly the same increase in points for Jacob Gulick (GFC Karting) moving up to seventh. He placed 14th at the SKUSA Pro Tour opener in Arizona. Down six spots out of the top three is AJ Myers (Magik Kart USA). The three-time SKUSA Pro Tour champion suffered another DNF result, with two of his eight results over the last 12 months resulting in not reaching the checkered flag. The positive was a runner-up at the Stars 2026 opener in Charlotte.
Holding onto ninth is Canadian Massimo Valiante (Italian Motors / Italkart). In his first EKN Driver Rankings race since placing on the podium at the SuperNationals 28, Valiante put in a ninth place result in his SKUSA Pro Tour debut, which increased his score 123 points. Up into the top 10 is Cooper Becklin. The former USF Pro Championships driver was fifth in the SKUSA Winter Series standings and placed 10th at the Stars opener.
Out of the top 10, down just one spot to 11th is Charlie Stines (GP Karts USA). The Indiana driver was the top qualifier at last year’s WinterNationals, however, did not make the trek out to Arizona. His latest result was eighth at the USPKS opener in North Carolina.

Shifterkart #1 – Adrien Renaudin
Paris, France

The Frenchman made his 2026 debut in the USA at the last three major events – SKUSA Pro Tour WinterNationals, USPKS Carolina Grand Prix, and the Stars Championship Series opener. The Velocity Racing / Sodikart driver finished top three in all three, including victory in his USPKS debut at Trackhouse Motorplex. This has helped to solidify his ‘Driver of the Year’ status in 2025 without a Pro Tour victory. The runner-up result in Tucson was the only result that was added to his seven-race score, with room to improve his score even more if he goes on a podium streak throughout the rest of 2026.

Shifterkart #2 – Matheus Morgatto
São Paulo, Brazil

The 2024 SKUSA Pro Tour champion is back into the top three of the EKN Driver Rankings. The new Velocity Racing / Sodikart driver has grown out of the adjustment period in the matter of three weekends, securing a win in his SKUSA Winter Series debut in February before going on to claim his first SKUSA Pro Tour victory since the 2024 SpringNationals in Ohio. Morgatto’s 2026 results include four wins in five starts from Florida Winter Tour, SKUSA and Stars competition. With his new home, and the confidence high, it could be another roll through the season for Morgatto like we saw in 2024 when he was the EKN ‘Driver of the Year’.

Shifterkart #3 – Jay Urwin
Matamata, New Zealand

It has been a strong start to the 2026 for the Kiwi driver. As one of the favorites last year, 2025 ended with sour results on the big stage. Redemption is on the mind of Urwin, as he put together two wins for the SKUSA Winter Series title and has gone on to finish top four in six of the first seven starts for 2026. The lone poor finish was from the Stars opener after contending for the win all weekend . With five of his seven results toward the EKN Driver Rankings from 2026, Urwin has room to improve his score as the 2026 season progresses.

EKN Driver Rankings Calculation Process
The EKN Driver Rankings are calculated using a driver’s best finishes in major North American races. Assembled using events from the previous 12 months from the current date, we use a driver’s best seven finishes in the TaG and Shifterkart categories to determine their overall current point total. With each new release, results posted from more than one year ago are discarded. To deliver our ranking list, we tabulate the results of all the national programs and selected regional programs. We have also included the results for the major one-off events such as the SKUSA SuperNationals, the Rock Island Grand Prix, and other special races.
Each race is initially weighted based on the prestige and history of the event or series with a score of ten (10) being the highest attainable base ranking. For 2026, the SKUSA SuperNationals will receive a score of 10 in its initial weighting in the TaG and Shifterkart categories. A base ranking of 9.5 is awarded to special events of ROK Vegas, RMC Trophy Final, and IAME Grand National Championship. The SKUSA Pro Tour carries a 9.5 for Shifterkart while a 9 base ranking for TaG. Other programs such as SKUSA Winter Series, United States Pro Kart Series, Florida Winter Tour, and RMC America’s Trophy, RMC Winter Trophy, Stars Karting Championship begin with a base ranking of 9. Other programs are given a base ranking of either 8.5 or 8.0.
The EKN staff reserves the right to adjust the rankings of each event throughout the year. A minimum entry total for any event to be considered for the Driver Rankings program is five (5). If an event does not have at least five (5) drivers starting the race, those results will not be tabulated toward the Driver Rankings.
Added to these initial rankings are two variables that help confirm the true importance of an event to the ranking process – field size and field strength. A percentage of one weighting point is added for the size of the field, while the number of existing top-50 drivers entered offers another full point or fraction of a point. The sum of these numbers becomes the overall ranking for any race.
Following a race, drivers receive points based on their finishing positions with 100 points earned for a win. Each subsequent position drops by one point with 99 points given to the second-place driver and so on throughout the field. These points are then multiplied by the overall ranking to produce a driver’s final point total from each event. Using a driver’s best seven races, we calculate each driver’s overall score and subsequent ranking.
