Blue skies and warm temperatures welcomed racers to Winchester, California, for Round 4 of the inaugural Champions of the Future America (COTF America) season.

Competitors returned to K1 Circuit’s Pro Track w/ Hairpin layout. By removing slower, technical sections, the layout produced the fastest lap times and highest average speeds of the season so far.

As the American staff continued to operate more independently, members of the international Champions of the Future team remained on hand to ensure consistency and smooth execution.

Tire supplier Presa by Maxxis once again provided all event tires with its usual professionalism.

Four drivers celebrated their first COTF America wins: Maddux Carlucci (Nash Motorsportz), Matthew Cagle (GFC), Joshua Daley (Nash Motorsportz), and Sergei Karamseili (Maxwell Sim Racing). Two drivers added another win to their tally for this inaugural season: Carson Bishop (Bishop Motorsports) and Sebastian Hauser (HRT).

MINI U10: Bishop Bounces Back with Dominant Sweep

After a difficult main race in Round 3, Carson Bishop (Bishop Motorsports) responded emphatically, sweeping all three Qualifying Heats and the Super Heat to secure pole position.

Starting third overall in the combined Mini/Mini U10 grid, Bishop briefly dropped a position at the start but retained the class lead. Sebastian Matyjaszczyk (Pickle Rick Racing) lost ground early, allowing Lucas Freitas Melo (Nash Motorsportz) into second before Matyjaszczyk reclaimed the spot on Lap 6.

Up front, Bishop controlled the race to take a commanding victory. Matyjaszczyk finished second, with Freitas Melo securing his second consecutive podium in third. Dan Duculescu (GFC) finished fourth, Baker Vettel (Precision Works) fifth, Vallon Jin (Kartnick) sixth, and Jaxxon Freckleton seventh.

MINI: Carlucci Secures Maiden Victory

Maddux Carlucci (Nash Motorsportz) carried momentum from Round 3 with two heat wins and a Super Heat victory to claim pole. Matthew Paciulli (HRT) also earned his first COTF America heat win.

At the start, Carlucci pulled clear ahead of Asher Biezonsky (Competition Speed) and Paciulli. Kendall West (Position One Motorsports), running fourth, applied pressure early before moving into third on Lap 6 and closing on the leaders.

On the final lap, West challenged Biezonsky, but he narrowly held on at the line to secure second behind Carlucci, who claimed his first series win and extended his championship lead.

Emiliano Hernandez (Position One Motorsports) finished fourth, Paciulli fifth, Benjamin Tavi (Nash Motorsportz) sixth, Lachlan Postle (GFC) seventh, Matteo Gomez (Position One Motorsports) eighth, Sebastian Ochi (Kartnick) ninth, and August Stringer (DC Racing) tenth.

KA100 Junior: Hauser Goes Back-to-Back

Bronson Koustas (Kartnick) earned his first pole of the season through consistent heat results, while Diesel Biezonsky (Competition Speed) continued strong form with two heat wins. Championship leader Sebastian Hauser (HRT) secured the Super Heat victory.

Koustas led early but exchanged positions with Biezonsky before settling back into the lead. Hauser dropped to fifth at the start but quickly recovered, climbing to second by Lap 6. Arran Speirs (Nash Motorsportz) charged from seventh to third, later moving into second.

Hauser took the lead on Lap 10 and held firm despite intense pressure from Speirs and Koustas in the closing laps to secure his second consecutive victory.

Speirs finished second for his maiden podium, with Koustas third. Braydon Wagner (Formula Works Racing) took fourth, Daniel Ramirez (Axis Kartsport) fifth, Troy Ferguson (Kartnick) sixth, Keegan Ellsworth (Formula Works) seventh, Nixon Ellsworth (Formula Works) eighth, Biezonsky ninth, and Luis Martinez (Position One Motorsports) completed the top ten after gaining eight positions.

KA100 Senior: Cagle Breaks Through in Thriller

Every heat produced a different winner in KA100 Senior: Stephen Eisert (Speedsense Motorsports), Archer Eversman (Axis Kartsport), Jackson Menchu (Calvo Driver Development), and Matthew Cagle (GFC). But it was Jackson Gibson (NRC) who had the consistency across all heats, which meant he secured his first COTF America pole position for the main event.

Gibson led early as the field shuffled intensely behind. Stephen Eisert (Speedsense Motorsports) and Oliver Calvo (Calvo Driver Development) both took turns at the front, while Matthew Cagle (GFC) steadily worked into contention.

After multiple lead changes, Cagle took control on Lap 14. He and Gibson pulled clear in the closing laps, with Cagle holding on to secure his maiden victory. Gibson finished second for his first podium, with Calvo also earning a maiden podium in third.

Johnie Stamps (Formula Works) delivered a standout recovery drive, gaining 19 positions to finish fourth. Eisert placed fifth, Kameron Perry (Lakeside) sixth, Max Campbell (Axis Kartsport) seventh, Jackson Maurer (Formula Works) eighth, Josh Leslie (GFC) ninth, and Ayden Aquino (S&J) tenth.

KA100 Heritage: Daley Dominates

Championship leader Tony Gomez (Lakeside Karting) and Joshua Daley (Nash Motorsportz) were the sole racers for KA100 Heritage, but both drivers secured heat wins: Daley with two Qualifying Heats and one Super Heat win on his way to his first COTF America pole position, and Gomez with a sole Qualifying Heat win.

Daley would dominate the race over Gomez, scoring his first KA100 Heritage win, finishing over 8 seconds in front of last event’s race winner and championship leader, Tony Gomez.

X30 Pro: Karamseili Capitalizes on Late Drama

With championship leader Erik Doan absent, the field had a major opportunity for points. Ayden Aquino (Formula Works) secured pole with two heat wins, while Sergei Karamseili (Maxwell Sim Racing) and Cayden O’Connor (Axis Kartsport) also claimed wins.

Aquino led early and built a gap, while Karamseili moved into second by Lap 3. At half-distance, Aquino maintained control—but retired on Lap 12, handing the lead to Karamseili.

Karamseili pulled away to secure his maiden victory by six seconds, propelling him to the championship lead over Erik Doan. O’Connor finished second, Santiago Hermida (Precision Works) third, Nathan Olin fourth, Anthony Rosetti (Precision Works) fifth, Daniel Mineo (Area 51 Motorsport) sixth, and Aquino was classified seventh.

Round 5 Next Month

Round 5 of Champions of the Future America will feature the series’ first race not at K1 Circuit, as it heads to Spring Mountain Karting Complex in Pahrump, Nevada, for a double-points event on May 29-31.
