The Tillotson brand dates back more than 100 years, founded in Toledo, Ohio, manufacturing carburetors for the automotive industry. The company continues to be a leader in the carburetor market, including in karting where Tillotson was among the first carburetors used for the first karts that were manufactured. In 2010, Tillotson began producing their own small engines, including a target at the karting market. This engine helped to launch the T4 Series.

The T4 Series is an affordable karting option that utilizes a spec chassis, engine, and tire combination, all aimed at low maintenance with a focus on driver performance. The T4 Series began in 2019 as a singular package for adult karting competition and has now grown to include four different packages for competition: T4 Senior (15 years and older), T4 Junior (12-16 years old), T4 Mini (8-12 years old) and T4 Bambino (5-7 years old). All four categories include a spec Tillotson chassis for each age division, manufactured by IPK (Innovative Products for Karting). Paired with the Tillotson engine platform and Maxxis T4 tires, the T4 Series package helps to put the emphasis on the driver with the spec equipment at regional and national competition.

The TPP-225RS is the powerplant for the Tillotson engine series. It produces more than 18 horsepower, featuring a PVL digital ignition coil limited to 7,500 rpm, and an FM series racing carburetor specifically calibrated for the 225RS. The 225RS is now utilized in all four categories for T4 competition. The primary difference between the categories is the carburetor size for Junior, Mini and Bambino. A 6000 rpm coil for the Mini class and smaller exhaust is also utilized. All four categories are spec with a Noram clutch and a specific exhaust system per class.

One event that helped to grow and expand the brand of the T4 Series program has been the T4 Nations Cup. The international event began in 2020 with just 35 drivers, but the race has grown exponentially, welcoming nearly 250 drivers at the 2025 event in Valencia, Spain.

“The T4 Series project launched in 2019 with the goal to providing a fair and affordable karting platform, and it has since proven to be a major success on a global scale,” stated Andrew Fallon of Tillotson. “The T4 Series is experiencing strong growth in the U.S. market, which is especially exciting to see as more tracks and series continue to adopt the platform. A key driver of this growth is the success of the T4 Nations Cup event where all the T4 Champions in the world come together to race for their nation and fight for the prestigious Nations Cup as well as individual driver titles. Team USA won the Nations Cup in 2023 and narrowly missed out in the last 2 years, so there is no doubt they will be assembling a strong team for this year’s event. Drivers can earn a fully paid entry to the T4 Nations Cup through several qualifying events and series throughout the United States in 2026.”

In the United States, the T4 Series program has established a home at the T4 KartPlex in Palmetto, Florida. The platform has been added to kart tracks throughout Florida, in California, and other facilities throughout the USA as well to help build the foundation for the program. The 2026 season is going to be one of expansion with multiple major events and series to welcome in the T4 Series platform under T4 Series USA umbrella.

The T4 Americas Cup brings together T4 Series USA and T4 Series Mexico into one program. A March 13-15 event at T4 KartPlex in Florida is paired with the May 1-3 weekend race at the Kartodromo San Luis in Mexico to award tickets and vouchers toward the T4 Nations Cup 2026.

The new Florida Karting Championship is slated to host T4 Senior, T4 Junior, T4 Masters and T4 Mini categories for its six-event, 12-round championship program within the Sunshine State. Beginning on February 27-March 1 at the T4 KartPlex, the series wraps up on December 4-6 at AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex. The series includes events at Monticello Karting, Piquet Race Park, Bushnell Motorsports Park, and 103rd Street Sports Complex. Prizes include fully funded tickets to the T4 Nations Cup 2026 for all four categories.

Also new for the 2026 season is the T4 Eastern Cup. The series utilizes three T4 Series USA track partners to form a three-round championship – Music City Kartplex (April 18) in Tennessee, Lorain Ohio Kartplex (June 21) and the Orlando Kart Center (July 5) in Florida.

The T4 platform has expanded into the Lone Star State for the 2026 as well as the Texas Sprint Racing Series has added the T4 Senior category with the goal of expanding to include T4 Junior and T4 Masters/Heavy categories next season. The TSRS begins in March at Speedsportz and hosts five events throughout the 2026 season with stops at NOLA Motorsports Park, Amarillo Motorsports Park, and KartMoto, ending in September at the New Caney, Texas facility.

T4 is showing that affordability, fairness, and real competition can coexist — and that’s why the momentum we’re seeing right now feels bigger than a championship. It feels like a turning point for professional karting.”

The backing of the Tillotson company behind the push to world for the T4 Series program, the spec racing program is geared at presenting affordable, grassroots racing that can be contested at all levels of the sport. The United States market is the focal point and there will be a lot of racing for T4 Series USA in 2026.
