The ownership group at Colorado Karting Circuit has a long-standing history in Colorado karting, including Greg Welch, Todd Varney and Ian Koentges. Through their decades of combined experience, they have developed a clear understanding of what the sport needs to succeed. After extensive discussions with team owners, facility owners, and racers across the Rocky Mountain karting community, they have established the Alpine Racing Series presented by Porsche Colorado Springs.

The 2026 Alpine Racing Series presented by Porsche Colorado Springs regional program will feature five events across four venues. Two events at the Colorado Karting Circuit at Centennial Airport will be part of their CKC Karting Championship program. Grand Junction Motor Speedway in Grand Junction, Colorado and SBR Motorsports Park in Calhan, Colorado each host an event with the addition of a new, never raced-at venue in the state of Colorado as the middle event of the 2026 program. This structure aims to provide racers with a balance of local and travel events while maintaining a unified championship experience.

The Round Three of Alpine Racing Series presented by Porsche Colorado Springs scheduled for July 18-19 is set to be held at Code 303 Police Training Facility in Littleton, Colorado. The facility hosts a 9.2-acre asphalt skills pad training area that will serve as the location of the temporary circuit.

The Alpine Racing Series presented by Porsche Colorado Springs would not have been created if not for a dedicated group of racers who share a common vision and goal for karting in Colorado. In response, the series has committed to a format that prioritizes racer input and has formed an advisory board to assist with the planning and execution of the inaugural Alpine Racing Series presented by Porsche Colorado Springs. This board consists of experienced racers and team owners and aims to help serve as a liaison between the competitors and series management to help ensure transparency, consistency, and a racer-focused approach as the series develops.

Both the CKC Karting Championship and Alpine Racing Series will operate under a single, unified ruleset with the same class structure and tire compounds across all events. In addition, they have eliminated membership requirements for points eligibility for both series. This approach will allow racers to compete in both series without additional tire costs, unfamiliar class formats, or unnecessary complexity.
