Kardashian Announces the Sale of the Route 66 Sprint Series
The following is a statement from Chris Kardashian regarding the sale of Route 66 Sprint Series
It is with great pleasure that I am announcing the sale of the Route 66 Sprint Series to Tim Koyen, who has been a longtime friend to the Series. When I bought the series in January of 2023, I had a vision for the series. I wanted the series to be focused first and foremost on Great Racing (and Clean Racing) at the premier tracks in the Midwest, but I also wanted to bring the entire family to the weekend events with an atmosphere and culture of “fun” and “respect”. We have focused on those objectives, and have successfully grown the series from an average kart count of 133 in 2021 to 170 in 2025.

The growth we achieved would not have happened without the dedication of an incredible team of associates and generosity and loyalty of so many Partners. I would be remiss to not give credit to those who were at my side and have been with me for the entire journey. My friend and right-hand man, Rick Jump, and his tech team, made up of Jay Fiene, Tim Anderson, and Al Weisenthel, who are the best in the business, bar none. Steve Everitt (Grid Man), Bob and Adam Crepin (penalties and assistant Race Director), Patrick Olsen (Race Director), and my dear friend Gary Pease who has been at my side for years supporting me in so many ways. You are all the best and I was blessed to have such a capable team behind me at every event.

In closing, as you have all heard me say many times: “Whether you are a driver, parent, mechanic, tuner, or driver coach, always be respectful to others on and off the track.” We are constantly setting examples for others to follow regardless of who we are or what our roles may be. Let’s remember the life lessons we learn in karting and apply them accordingly, after all, we all know, “Racing is not a part of life, it is a way of life”.
