The 2025 United States Pro Kart Series – the official IAME Series USA East – presented by MG Tires held its ‘Situation Saturday’ at the Indiana Grand Prix from the New Castle Motorsports Park. The final three rounds of heat races were held on the New Castle, Indiana facility on Saturday, setting up the final scenarios for five of the seven championships still up for grabs. A small threat of rain stayed away as the clear skies early led to overcast conditions with temperatures still in the upper 80s.

The championship in Rolison Performance Group X30 Pro already decided, it’s a battle for the over $13,000 in prize money and over $5,000 to win on Sunday. Alessandro de Tullio (RRC / LN Racing Kart) put himself at the top of the order on the day, winning the opening two heat races ahead of top qualifier Joe Turner (JHDD / Kart Republic). In the final heat, the two had contact in I-70 corner which shuffled up the field and allowed Frankie Mossman (SCR / CS55) to run away with the race win. ADT fought back to third while Turney ended up sixth. This put de Tullio into the pole position for the main event with Mossman starting on the outside of the front row with two third place results. Turney goes from P3 with 2024 champion Austin Garrison (SCR / CS55) starting fourth after three top five results. Gus Lawrence (RPG / Kosmic) makes it two British drivers in the first three rows along side Senior rookie Enzo Vidmontiene (SLA / Kart Republic).

The top four in the championship chase for Brandon Jarsocrak Racing KA100 Senior all had positive days to help their cause toward the title, including a heat race win for each. Championship leader Pauly Massimino (BJR / LN Racing Kart) added 270 points to his total while Brandon Lemke (SCR / CS55) collected the most at 300, thanks to securing 25 points for top qualifier. Blake Nash (Nash / EOS) was second overall thus far at 285 while James Overbeck (BJR / Tony Kart) had the least amount of points of the four at 256. Nash however will not be able to claim the crown despite his performance on the day, mathematically eliminated from the title chase. Lemke still has a shot, needing to win with both Massimino and Overbeck having DNF results. This basically leaves the championship down to where Massimino and Overbeck finish, with every position a factor. Massimino starts third behind Nash and Lemke while Overbeck is fifth on the grid with Zachary Claman DeMelo (Velocity / Sodi Kart) the wild card after three top four results on the day.

The championship is in the hands of Alexander Vanchev (RPG / Kosmic) in the Speed Concepts Racing X30 Junior class. Vanchev, who missed Daytona, already has a drop and thus is collecting points with each session. His two wins on the day and runner-up has set the bar to 1880 points. That equates to a 20th or better scenario in the main event for him to claim the 2025 title. He will start on pole position with championship contender John Antonino (MPG / Kart Republic) starting second. Royce Vega (RPG / Kosmic) goes from third with title contender Sarah Bradley (RPM / Sodi Kart) in fourth. Jude Thirumalaiswany (SCR / CS55) is having his best weekend thus far with a best heat result of third, starting the Final from fifth alongside Junior rookie Marco Sammut (BJR / LN Racing Kart). Championship leader and Heat #2 winner Ashton Woon (SCR / CS55) starts 11th after a DNF in Heat #3 due to contact. Daytona winner Theo Salomao (Orsolon / Tony Kart) goes from eighth with a best finish in the heats of sixth. Max Weiland (Magik Kart USA) is also still in the points chase, suffering a flat tire in the final heat after placing third in the first two motos. He starts the Final from ninth.

In the BBS Race Engines KA100 Junior championship, point leader Travis Pettit (SCR / CS55) is doing what he needs to help his cause. Two heat wins, second, and the bonus points for top qualifier have him with a third or better result automatically clinches him the championship. Starting from the pole position, he will need to stay up front to lock it in no matter what the other drivers finish. Max Weiland (Magik Kart USA) has the opportunity to steal the championship with a win and where Pettit finishes. Weiland starts fourth after a win, fourth and third in the heats. Julian Rivera (Orsolon / Tony Kart), Tristan Murphy (RPM / Tony Kart), Daytona winner Theo Salomao (Orsolon / Tony Kart), and Nathan Dupuis (Nash / EOS) make it six total drivers in the championship chase on Sunday. They start sixth, 10th, third, and ninth respectively. Isaac Malcuit (MDR / LN Racing Kart) is the wildcard in the mix as he starts the Final from second after a second, win and second in the heats. Alexander Vanchev (RPG / Kosmic) does not have a shot at this title, but the win on the weekend starting fifth with three top three results on the day.

Maxwell Macha is in the driver’s seat for the title in the Sodi Racing USA Mini Swift championship. Macha (Parolin Motorsport USA) can win the title with a first or second place finish in the Final. Otherwise, no matter where he finishes, Jayden Francisco (RPM / Nitro Kart) will claim the 2025 class championship. Macha starts third after results of fourth, third and fourth. Starting on the front row will be two heat race winner Enzo DiGennaro (Parolin Motorsport USA) alongside top qualifier and Heat #1 winner Liam Nachawati (JHDD / Kart Republic). Jake Manalio (RPM / Nitro Kart), Lawrence Peremen (BJR / LN Racing Kart) and Cameron Johnson (Franklin / Merlin) make up the first three rows. Francisco starts seventh after suffering a flat tire in the second heat, placing P5 in the other two heat races.

It is now just a two driver fight in the Team Ferris Racing Micro Swift championship. Point leader Lenox Lockhart (Velocity / Sodi Kart) and Slate Harrell (RPM / Nitro Kart) are the lone drivers to be able to claim the top spot in the standings. Both had one bad hit due to contact, with Harrell starting fifth and Lockhart starting eighth. For Harrell, it is a win or nothing scenario as he needs to claim the victory on Sunday in order to win the championship. Otherwise, no matter where Lockhart finishes, he will become the champion. Leading the field to the green flag will be Jack Kotowski (TKG / Birelart) with a sixth and two runner-up results. Dutch Westbrook (Team Benik) starts from the outside of row one with Daytona winner Hudson Howard (JHDD / Kart Republic) and Mason Brody (JHDD / Kart Republic) in row two. Harrell is joined in row three by Brody Stoffle (JHDD / Kart Republic) as two time heat race winner Leo Simone (JHDD / Kart Republic) starts seventh after contact with Lockhart in the second moto.

A unique scenario played out on the day in the Nash Motorsportz KA100 Master class. Top qualifier Tyler Prestel (A-Maxx / Kosmic) had his race tires from qualifying displaced, and was unable to find them on the premises. Thus, he elected to save his second set for Sunday and did not start any of the heat races. Fellow NCMP local Clay Settles (Top Kart USA) took advantage and stormed from 11th to first in the opening two heat races while losing his rear bumper in the final heat after nearly taking the lead. Laurentiu Mardan (Tecno Kart USA) won the final heat, and starts from the pole position with Settles starting second. Mario Barrios (RPG / Kosmic) and Ariel Castro (RPG / Exprit) are in row two with Miguel Mier (Orsolon / Tony Kart) and Scot Carapellatti (CR / Kosmic) from row three. 2025 champion Martin Stone (RPG / Kosmic) was third, third and DNF after electrical issue in the final heat. He starts seventh.

Championship Sunday is all that remains for the 2025 United States Pro Kart Series, with the seven main events on the docket at New Castle Motorsports Park.
