The article will feature notes from trackside at the 2025 United States Pro Kart Series Indiana Grand Prix at the New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana. Micro Swift Championship Leader – Lenox Lockhart

The advantage is 23 points for Lockhart, heading into this weekend. He and all the drivers under the Velocity Racing program are working with driver coach Alexander Searle. Speaking with Lockhart, Searle has been his first driver coach and worked together since Day 1 in karting. Searle is now a great benefit thus far over the weekend working with Velocity. Lockhart is coming off victory at Road America and knows every position will matter over the course of this event.

KA100 Junior Championship Leader – Travis Pettit

It has been a strong summer season for Speed Concepts Racing driver Travis Pettit. The lead going into the weekend is 113 points, however, factoring in the drop Trackhouse winner Max Weiland makes it only seven points. Speaking with Pettit, he knows the challenge ahead but is very confident going into the weekend thanks to his victory here a few weeks ago. Running double duty is keeping him busy, however, he feels it won’t be a hinder on his performance this weekend. The difference between X30 and KA, no teammates. Thus, it will be all on Travis to complete the task of earning the championship.

KA100 Senior Championship Leader – Pauly Massimino

It is a unique situation in the KA100 Senior title chase. Brandon Jarsocrak Racing drivers Pauly Massimino and James Overbeck are the drivers leading the charge. Massimino leads over Brandon Lemke by 94 points, however, factoring in the drop it is Overbeck ahead of Massimino by 12 points. Speaking with Massimino, his plan is as normal, race for the win. Pauly knows he and Overbeck will be near or around each other all weekend based on their pace through practice. With each having a win, a victory this weekend would all but seal the deal for Massimino but the veteran knows what needs to be done to claim his first USPKS title.

Mini Swift Championship Leader – Jayden Francisco

This is the second time in the last month that Jayden Francisco has entered the weekend as the championship leader. Last time here at New Castle with two rounds of racing, it did not pan out in the favor for Francisco. Speaking with Nitro Kart’s Cody Johnson, the mindset has changed going into the weekend. They know Francisco needs to race for the win and not worry about points out on the race track. The Daytona winner holds a 205 point advantage, but factoring in the drop, he trails Maxwell Macha by four points with others closed in. Macha will be the measuring stick all weekend for Francisco, looking to not lose points to him on track.

X30 Junior Championship Leader – Ashton Woon

The Junior rookie has been the most consistent driver throughout the 2025 season. At all programs, he’s either fighting for a podium spot or finishing in the top five. The Speed Concepts Racing driver is still seeking his first USPKS victory after winning here at New Castle a few weeks ago. He leads by 52 points overall, but factoring in the drop, Alexander Vanchev gains a large advantage in the championship. Woon knows that, and they told EKN the plan is the same as before, perform at their best.

KA100 Masters Championship Leader – Martin Stone

One of the two championship already clinched is in the hands of Martin Stone. The now Texas driver from the UK will celebrate his first series title despite where he finishes on the weekend. Speaking with Stone, he’s using this weekend as a test for the upcoming Vegas events this Fall. The other plus on the weekend is competing with teammates, having Ariel Castro rejoining Rolison Performance Group for New Castle and the return of Mario Barrios to USPKS competition. Stone said he’s happy to be able to have teammates to work over data with, in an effort to continue improving with each session.

X30 Pro Championship Leader – Ryan Norberg

The biggest news of the weekend in New Castle is the absence of Ryan Norberg on the grid. Already clinching the X30 Pro championship after the third round at Road American, Norberg was a last minute scratch from the Indiana Grand Prix. Norberg is trackside, continuing his work as driver coach under the Rolison Performance Group tent. The Florida driver and his wife Shelbey are expecting their first child in September, leaving the rest of his schedule up in the air, including the IAME USA Grand National Championship event at Trackhouse Motorplex over Labor Day weekend. This will be the first X30 Pro race Norberg has missed since 2019.
