The ROK SV engine will make its USA debut at the ROK Cup USA ROK Vegas event

A new powerplant is set to make its United States debut at the upcoming 2025 ROK Cup USA ROK Vegas event. During the October 28-November 2 event outside the Rio Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, the new ROK SV will be on display both on and off the temporary circuit overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.

The ROK SV is the latest model under the ROK Cup platform from Vortex, designed around reliability and high performance. The 125cc engine that features 34 HP with a max RPM of 15,000, equipped with dry clutch and Tillotson carburetor. The combined kart and driver minimum weight at ROK Vegas for ROK SV Pro will be 350lbs.

“ROK Cup USA is excited to introduce the new 125cc ROK SV engine at ROK Vegas,” stated Mike Burrell of ROK Cup USA. “It is a powerful, compact and simple engine to operate. It has a Tillotson carburetor, which is the most popular option here in North America.”

Blake Nash of Nash Motorsportz is among the first drivers in the USA to sample the new ROK SV powerplant. “The engine package has a lot of torque off the corner, more than the ROK GP engine and other 125cc motors I’ve driven,” Nash told EKN. “Having the Tillotson carburetor is also a very nice change, which makes the package a lot more user friendly for the newer audience looking to hop into the package. From the testing that we completed, the ROK SV is at least seven tenths to one-second quicker than other 125cc engines. I like the aspect of having the raffle for the introductory race at ROK Vegas. It will be a level playing field for all of the drivers as we learn more about the ROK SV.”

With ROK Cup USA, the ROK SV replaces the ROK GP engine for the Pro category at the 2025 ROK Vegas event. The class will be unique from the rest of the categories, capped at 25 drivers with the engines raffled off prior to the action beginning in Las Vegas.

ROK Cup USA will welcome a team from the Vortex factory to help prep the engines – including setting the squish and carburetor to make sure all the equipment is as equal as possible. Vortex will seal the engines, pipes and carburetors prior to competitors drawing for their engine kit on Tuesday afternoon. Competitors will have a break in period Wednesday morning and keep that same engine through qualifying. After qualifying, competitors will bring the engine, carburetor and pipe back to Vortex. Each morning, competitors will redraw for engines. After the Final on Sunday, competitors will have the option of buying the engine at a discount or returning the engine to Vortex. The use of the engines at ROK Vegas are included in the entry fee.

“What is great about the SV class for ROK Vegas is we are using the same concept as used at the ROK Superfinal in the Mini class: engines included with the entry fee and equally prepared and serviced by Vortex,” added Burrell. “While we are excited to show off the performance and quality of the new SV platform, the focus on-track is still going to be on the drivers on PRO SV competing for a $5,000 winner’s purse. It should be one of the most exciting classes of the weekend!”

The prize package for the ROK SV Pro category features the $5,000 cash prize along with a 2026 Florida Winter Tour entry package for all three weekends. The top-five receive cash, including $2,000 for second, $1,000 for third, fourth taking home $750 and $500 to fifth. The runner-up also earns a 2026 ROK Vegas entry package while third-place has a choice between a 2026 Florida Winter Tour or ROK Sonoma Three Race Entry award.
