Today marks 100 days until ROK Cup USA hosts the 2025 ROK Vegas event outside the Rio Hotel & Casino Las Vegas from October 29 to November 2. To commemorate the day, registration for the event is set to open at 3pm EDT or ‘High Noon’ in Las Vegas.

The eight editions of the ROK Vegas event have averaged 286 entries during that span, welcoming over 350 in 2021 and 2022. The event began as ‘ROK the RIO’ name in 2018, racing on the famed parking lot outside the Las Vegas resort until moving to a parking lot east of the Planet Hollywood – which is now part of the Formula One paddock area for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The inaugural event for ROK Vegas in 2018 saw history be made. The GFC Karting brand launched that weekend, scoring the big headline victory with Mathias Ramirez in ROK Shifter. That category has seen six different winners over the seven editions, including Romanian Daniel Vasile last year. Costa Rican driver Danny Formal is the only driver to win twice – 2019 and 2021. ROK Senior and ROK Junior have seven different winners in seven years of ROK Vegas.

On July 17, ROK Cup USA announced the prize package for the 2025 ROK Vegas event. This year’s purse is well over $110,000 with $40,000 of that in cash prizes. A $5,000 payday to win the ROK Pro Shifter category, paying back to 10th is the highlight of the cash prizes. There will be $2,000 bonuses up for grabs to a driver who can with both ROK SV Pro and ROK VLR Senior or for the Junior level, take the victory in ROK VLR Senior and ROK GP Junior. Tickets to events are part of the prize package, including ROK Superfinal, ROK Vegas 2026, and Florida Winter Tour 2026 along with ROK engines and products.

The categories for the 2025 ROK Vegas event is similar to that of the past, with one big significant change. New for this year is the ROK SV Pro category, replacing the ROK GP Pro class. The ROK SV engine is the next evolution of the ROK platform from the Vortex factory, featuring 34 HP with a max RPM of 15,000. The engine is water-cooled with dry clutch, electric starter and same butterfly 24mm Tillotson carburetor used on the ROK VLR engines. The ROK SV Pro category will be limited to 25 entries, with the new ROK SV engine included in the entry. All engines will be equally prepared and sealed by OTK, distributed through a lottery.

Also new is the addition of ROK Shifter Super Masters and ROK VLR Super Masters. The classes, running at the same time of ROK Masters Shifter and ROK VLR Masters categories, the additional divisions will be scored separately for drivers 40 and older.

Registration for the 2025 ROK Vegas event opens July 21 at 3pm EDT, or ‘High Noon’ in Las Vegas, available at ROKCupUSA.com. ROK Cup USA provides the unique ‘Pay at Track’ option for registration, which saves your number and entry to the class, but costs you nothing until you arrive in Las Vegas.
