2025 IKF Road Race Grand Nationals Featured in West Coast Kart Grand Prix
Northern California Karters event primed for big turnout at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

The Las Vegas Motor Speedway will once again be invaded by kart racers from around the country this fall as the Northern California Karters organization will promote their West Coast Kart Grand Prix on the September 12-14 weekend. The event will also feature this year’s International Kart Federation Road Race Grand Nationals, where the iconic Duffy trophies will be awarded to the deserving winners.
This year’s West Coast Kart Grand Prix will have a number of special races on the schedule. The event will feature a KT100S Enduro Challenge, an 80-Minute Enduro, and a Pro 125cc Shifter Race.
The Emmick Racing KT100S Enduro Challenge will be a headline event for Yamaha Laydown racers and will boast a $10,000 cash purse awarded to the top-five finishers. Only entries with laydown chassis are eligible (class rules apply).
The 80-Minute Kart Enduro will be open to all eligible sprint and laydown classes and their will be 75% payback of entry fees to the top finishers. Strategy, pit timing, and endurance will win the day in this competitive event.
Gearbox shifter kart racing has been a huge part of the road race karting community for decades and the Pro 125cc Shifter Race is expected to attract the best of the best in 125cc shifter racing go head-to-head at LVMS. Like the 80-Minute Kart Enduro, there will be 75% payback of all Pro class entry fees. The Pro 125cc event will be open to all brands and engines formats, including ICC, KZ, ROK, and Stock Moto. It’s a ‘run what you brung’ style category and the NCK is excited to see the entries come in.
This year’s IKF Road Race Grand Nationals will include a total of 14 classes, and the following will be eligible to compete for the Duffy, provided they draw 10+ pre-entries:

Superkarts:
- Superkart ICE

- Superkart ICE FE Twin

- Superstock CR 125 (99-01)

- 4Z 190 Light
- 4Z 190 Heavy
- Formula 80cc Senior
- Formula 80cc Senior Heavy
Sprint / TaG / 100cc:
- TaG Light
- TaG Heavy
- KA / VLR 100cc Light
- KA / VLR 100cc Heavy
206 Briggs & Stratton:
- 206 Light
- 206 Heavy
Additional classes may be added by request. All racing takes place on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway ‘outside’ road race circuit that measures out to roughly 2.4 miles featuring 12 turns. The 300’ x 900’ paddock provides optimal space for competitors
As part of the IKF Road Race Grand Nationals, a pair of special awards will be given to deserving racers through the event. The Troy Ruttman Award is given annually at the road race event, honoring sportsmanship, perseverance, and racing spirit. NCK will also honor the Best Appearing Kart Award, celebrating outstanding craftsmanship and design.
The official event headquarters will be located at the Cannery Casino, which is just seven miles from the track. Registration and Driver Packet pick-up will both be handled at the Cannery.
