The first day of racing at the United States Pro Kart Series – the official IAME Series USA East – presented by MG Tires for the 2025 edition of the Wisconsin Grand Prix was completed on Saturday under the warm skies in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin at the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America. Three rounds of heat races for the over 200 entries in the seven IAME categories were contested after Friday’s afternoon qualifying sessions. No major issues throughout the day as the historic 4.1-mile course kept the noise level amplified with the multiple car programs screaming around. It was a very competitive day, as two of the categories featured ties for the pole position in Sunday’s main event, including a three-way tie in KA100 Junior after six heat races and three drivers recording the same points in Mini Swift.

It has been a perfect performance since qualifying for the three-time champion Ryan Norberg (RPG / Kosmic) in the Rolison Performance Group X30 Pro class. Norberg led all 36 laps on the day to win all three heat races, as he was never really challenged over the course of the races. Former series race winner Joe Turney (JHDD / Alonso Kart) improved from fourth to start on the front row of the main event after three top-three finishes in the heat races. Pauly Massimino (BJR / LN Racing Kart) put in three top-five results to improve up to third on the grid as Austin Garrison (SCR / CS55) slipped to fourth despite three top-four efforts on the day. Hayden Jones (RPG / Kosmic) was among the quickest in Friday practice and qualified second, but record three straight sixth place results in the heats to start fifth.

The Brandon Jarsocrak Racing KA100 Senior class featured six heat races on the day as the 46-drivers were split up into A-B-C-D groups for the three rounds of heats. Five different drivers won on the day as Joe Turney (JHDD / Alonso Kart) in his class debut was the only competitor to win twice. He will start on the pole position with fellow British driver Caden McQueen (Velocity / Sodi Kart) on the outside. McQueen – in his class debut – was 12th in qualifying but won in his opening heat race while finishing second and fourth to earn the outside front row starting position. Pauly Massimino (BJR / LN Racing Kart), Jake Drew (FW / GFC) and Brandon Lemke (SCR / CS55) all won a heat race as well, with all placing inside the top-five in the their heat races. Massimino and Drew will start from row two while Blake Nash (Nash / EOS) will join Lemke on the outside of row three for the main event. Top qualifier Eli Warren (HDD / Redspeed) ended up with results of second, sixth and second to slip back to seventh on the main event grid.

It was a very competitive day in the BBS Race Engines KA100 Junior category. Three drivers recorded the same amount of points to fight for the pole position in the main event on Sunday as their qualifying efforts broke up the ties. Brady Schad (RPG / Kosmic), Nathan Dupuis (Nash / EOS) and Travis Pettit (SCR / CS55) all recorded two heat wins and a runner-up to match each others score. Schad was second in qualifying and earns the pole position start for the main event while Dupuis starts from the outside of row one. Pettit will have to start from third despite his solid day in the heat races after qualifying fifth. Max Weiland (Magik Kart USA) qualified 12th overall and worked his way up into three top-four results on the day to earn the outside second row starting position for the Final. Benym Abernathy (HDD / Tony Kart) and Canadian Edward Kennedy (Energy Corse America) will go from row three. Top qualifier Tristan Murphy (RPM / Tony Kart) had results of fourth, third and 11th to drop him down to ninth on the starting grid.

Brady Schad (RPG / Kosmic) will enjoy starting on the front row twice on Sunday, also earning the pole position in the Speed Concepts Racing X30 Junior category. He along with Benym Abernathy (HDD / Tony Kart) and Lucas Palacio (JHDD / Kart Republic) won heat races on the day in the 22-driver category. Schad finished third and second to earn the pole position over top qualifier Sarah Bradley (SCR / Sodi Kart). Bradley was fourth, third and third on the day to maintain a front row starting spot. Palacio qualified fifth and suffered a10th place result in the opening heat race. His Heat #2 win and runner-up in the final heat pushed him up to third on the starting grid along side Abernathy. The Heat #1 winner was eighth and fifth in the other two heat races on the day. Trackhouse winner Max Weiland (Magik Kart USA) will start fifth, dropping back from qualifying second after three top-six results. John Antonino (MPG / Kart Republic) will start alongside in row three.

The Nash Motorsportz KA100 Masters category was a battle all day. It was almost three different winners in the heat races, but top qualifier Adam Crepin (Franklin / Gillard) came away with two heat wins in a photo finish for Heat #3. He slipped by Carlos Calderon (SCR / CS55) at the line to grab that win after earning the opening round heat race win after Calderon and championship leader Martin Stone (RPG / Kosmic) tangled in the closing laps. Stone was able to get out to the lead and the win in Heat #2, putting him second on the grid for the Final with Calderon slotted into the third spot. Eric Schumacher (Franklin / Exprit) starts fourth with Challenge of the Americas champion Scott Falcone (Orsolon / Pantano) in fifth.

Three different winners in the heat races for the Sodi Racing USA Mini Swift category. Cameron Johnson (FMS / Merlin) won in a close battle for Heat #1 before top qualifier Maxwell Macha (Parolin Motorsport USA) came away with the win in Heat #2 while Santiago Orioli (OKP / Kart Republic) held on for the win in Heat #3. All three drivers recorded the same point total after the three races. Macha maintains the pole position for the Final after placing fourth and third in his other results. Johnson was also third and fourth, but qualified fourth on Friday while Orioli was second and fifth, with a P5 qualifying effort. Johnson will start on the outside of the front row with Orioli inside row two alongside championship leader Jayden Francisco (RPM / Nitro Kart). He was fifth, second and second on the day. Enzo DiGennaro (Parolin Motorsport USA) and Dominic Gaddis (MPG / Kart Republic) make up row three for the Final.

Closing out the categories on the day, the Team Ferris Racing Micro Swift class also featured three different winners in the heat races. Canadian Leo Simone (JHDD / Kart Republic), Slate Harrell (RPM / Nitro Kart) and Lenox Lockhart (Velocity / Sodi Kart) all celebrated a win on the day. Top qualifier Harrell maintains the pole position for the Final off his second and third place results. Simone also holds his outside front row starting spot with results of third and fourth. Lockhart moves up from seventh in qualifying to start the main event from third. Brody Stoffle (JHDD / Kart Republic) will join him in row two while Daytona winner Hudson Howard (JHDD / Kart Republic) and Alvaro Medeiros (Orsolon / Tony Kart) make up row three.

Weather is forecasted to be a warm day in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin and the USPKS wraps up this year’s Wisconsin Grand Prix. All competitors in the KA categories will start the Final, with the races to begin sometime after 9am on Sunday.
