The United States Pro Kart Series – the official IAME Series USA East – presented by MG Tires is set to host the second event of the 2025, welcoming over 230 entries for the seven IAME categories to compete at this year’s Carolina Grand Prix at the Trackhouse Motorplex. The Mooresville, North Carolina facility is the unofficial home of the USPKS, hosting its inaugural event back in 2013. Weather is expected to perfect for racing as the second round of the championship will be contested.

The Trackhouse Motorplex was known originally as the Mooresville Motorplex before taking on the name of GoPro Motorplex and now its new name for the last few seasons. The 11-turn, 7/10-mile circuit is a replica of the famous Kartdromo Parma circuit in Italy – which no longer exists. It is among the most populated karting tracks in North America, ready to host the USPKS for the 13th time in the 13-year history of the series.

Unofficial practice will run from Noon to 6pm on Thursday before four rounds of official practice and qualifying are contested on Friday. Three rounds of heat races fill up the schedule on Saturday, setting the grids for the Finals on Sunday. KA100 Senior and KA100 Junior will be split up into heat groups based on qualifying with possible B Main events on Sunday.

The Rolison Performance Group X30 Pro division is welcoming an increased cash purse for Trackhouse weekend and throughout the rest of the 2025 season. At 20 entries, a $13,000 purse triggers for the event with $5,070 awarded to the race winner, with payback to sixth at $1,040. A perfect score after the opening event in Daytona for Ryan Norberg (RPG / Kosmic) as the three-time series champion leading the point standings by 70 points over former Trackhouse winner Pauly Massimino (BJR / LN Racing Kart). Both are not on the entry list, however, scheduled to compete this weekend. Frankie Mossman (JHDD / Kart Republic) sits third in the title chase after a third-place result in Daytona. 2024 IAME USA Grand National Championship winner Jakub Kolar (Vice / Kart Republic) and Finnegan Bayliff (TKG / Birelart) make up the top five heading into the weekend. New on the driver list is Enzo Vidmontiene (SLA / Kart Republic), making his USPKS X30 Pro debut and comes in with wins in the Junior categories at Trackhouse. Former race winner Hayden Jones (RPG / Kosmic) is also making his 2025 debut.

As expected, the Brandon Jarsocrak Racing KA100 Senior category has eclipsed the 50 driver mark for the Trackhouse weekend. Home track advantage sits with the top two in the standings with Brandon Jarsocrak Racing teammates James Overbeck (Tony Kart) and Pauly Massimino (LN Racing Kart) at the top. Daytona winner Overbeck holds a 10 point advantage over Massimino, who won at Trackhouse last year in this category. California driver Blake Nash (Nash / EOS) is third after his third-place result in Daytona while Senior rookie Sebastian Garzon (Orsolon / Tony Kart) and former series champion Brandon Lemke (SCR / CS55) make up the top five in the standings. The field is stacked with talent, including Gavin Bayliff (TKG / Birelart), Peyton Phillips (Arcane / Tony Kart), Eli Warren (HDD / Redspeed), Enzo Vidmontiene (SLA / Kart Republic) and Connor Ferris (TFR / Kart Republic). Local drivers Caleb Gafrarar (HDD / Tony Kart), Emory Lyda (RPM / Tony Kart) and Jared Clarke (BJR / LN Racing Kart) – coming off victory at the Stars event in Charlotte – have plenty of success and laps at Trackhouse.

Theo Salomao (Orsolon / Tony Kart) comes into the weekend leading both Junior championships. A strong lineup of 29 drivers will compete in the Speed Concepts Racing X30 Junior division. Salomao leads the standings by just five points over Alexander Vanchev (RPG / Kosmic) with Ashton Woon (SCR / CS55) third, back by 74 points. While Woon is a Junior rookie, he has thousands of laps around the Trackhouse circuit. Canadian Nathan Dupuis (Nash / EOS) is coming off victory in California at Challenge of the Americas, sits fourth in the standings while Sarah Bradley (SCR / Sodi Kart) is fifth. The weekend marks the USPKS season debuts for Lucas Palacio (JHDD / Kart Republic), John Antonino and Luca Popescu (RPG / Kosmic). Palacio is a former Cadet champion at USPKS, coming off a solid start to the season in OK-N competition in Europe. Antonino had a provisional OK-N win at the Stars event in Charlotte before a pushback bumper penalty took the win away. Popescu was among the contenders last weekend at the Challenge event in Sonoma.

The event high 53 drivers will fight in the BBS Race Engines KA100 Junior division. Everyone was chasing Salomao (Orsolon / Tony Kart) who earned a perfect score over the opening weekend in Daytona. He holds a 103 point advantage over Julian Rivera (Orsolon / Tony Kart) with Canadian Nathan Dupuis (Nash / EOS) in third. Travis Pettit (TB Kart USA) and Isaac Malcuit (MDR / LN Racing Kart) make up the top five in the championship standings, set to be among the contenders on the weekend. Ashton Woon (SCR / CS55) and John Antonino are among the 18 drivers running double duty in the Junior divisions. Max Cristea (JHDD / Kart Republic) is making his 2025 debut after recovering from a leg injury.

The Nash Motorsportz KA100 Masters division is welcoming at least 15 drivers on the weekend. Brazilian Renato Jader David (Orsolon / Tony Kart) out dueled Martin Stone (RPG / Kosmic) in Daytona for the victory and leads the standings by 40 points. Scott Barnes (Maranello) and Randy Klimek (HDD / LN Racing Kart) sit third and fourth, however, will not be at Trackhouse. Mundy Loyer (Nash / EOS), who sits fifth, will be as he is behind RJD by 164 points. The weekend marks the return of Ariel Castro (RPG / Exprit) to the category along with former USPKS winner Miguel Mier (Orsolon / Tony Kart) who was not in Daytona. New to the category this weekend is Trackhouse regular Dusty Davis (RPM / Tony Kart). Davis competing in the Senior division but will be making his first start in the Masters division.

The competitive Sodi Racing USA Mini Swift division features 31 drivers set to battle, many of which are among contenders to land on the podium. The Daytona main event was a photo finish as Jayden Francisco (RPM / Nitro Kart) edged out Maxwell Macha (Velocity / Sodi Kart) at the line. Its Macha however leading the championship by 14 points. Sitting third is Parker Ives (RPM / Nitro Kart), who comes in as the defending race winner. Mini rookies Santiago Orioli (OKP / Kart Republic) and Lawrence Peremen (BJR / LN Racing Kart) sit fourth and fifth after one round of racing. Missing in Daytona was Zayne Burgess (SCR / Sodi Kart), who is making his USPKS Mini debut after earning the Micro championship last year. Enzo DiGennaro (Parolin Motorsport USA), Cameron Johnson (FMS / Merlin) and Colton Schniegenberg (GWR / Nitro Kart) are among the contenders. Home track advantage sit with Holden Myers (TimmyTech / CompKart) and Cade Wolfe (TimmyTech / CompKart).

Another large field of 35 drivers will battle in the Team Ferris Racing Micro Swift division. Hudson Howard (JHDD / Kart Republic) gained his first series victory in Daytona with a win over Lenox Lockhart (Velocity / Sodi Kart). The two are separated by only three points in the standings heading into the weekend. Leo Simone (JHDD / Kart Republic) sits third over Slate Harrell (RPM / Nitro Kart) with Marcelo Flores (JHDD / Kart Republic) holding fifth. Zev Godschalk (Team Benik) was not in Daytona, returning to action for the Trackhouse weekend. Mason Brody (Nash / EOS), Jack Kotowski (TKG / Birelart), Brody Stoffle (JHDD / Kart Republic) and Dutch Westbrook (Team Benik) are among the notable names in the field.
