The new KZ80 available from Motori Seven USA

Motori Seven USA is excited to announce the launch of the KZ80, the first purpose-built 80cc shifter engine specifically designed for Junior and Senior shifterkart racing. Unlike modified motorbike engines, the KZ80 offers a robust and reliable solution with a focus on long service intervals along with affordable cost of ownership. Featuring a paddle shifter for seamless gear changes, the engine can be installed on any chassis, offering flexibility and performance for aspiring shifter racers.

“Our goal is to support the development of up-and-coming drivers, helping them gain the skills and experience needed for higher levels of karting or transitioning to car racing,” stated Jason Ewers of Motori Seven USA. “This is why we feel strongly against front brakes in our program. After speaking with many professional drivers, our strategic decision is to focus on fostering proper driving habits. By not including front brakes, it encourages drivers to develop better control and precision with their braking. This decision pushes them to refine their skills, ensuring they are more conscious of their braking zones and more deliberate with their inputs.”

This highlights the importance of creating well-rounded drivers who can feel the karts limits. By removing the front brakes, you are encouraging these young drivers to be more aware of the dynamics of their kart and to develop a greater understanding of weight transfer and braking balance.

Motori Seven USA is based at K1 Circuit Whiteland in Whiteland, Indiana. For the 2025 season, the KZ80 Engine will be featured at club events for Whiteland, New Castle Motorsports Park, Music City Kartplex and Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati along with inclusion in the Southern Indiana Racing Association series.
