In a continued effort to highlight the many outstanding performances by drivers around the country, eKartingNews.com is proud to introduce the ‘Driver of the Month’ program. Each month, the staff at EKN will determine the one driver who stood out above the rest and give the viewers a chance to know exactly what they accomplished and who they are.

The 2025 season is underway with the six straight weeks of racing at the Orlando Kart Center about to wrap up this weekend. Racing in other parts of the country are on the horizon with more major events schedule over the next two months before the spring season arrives for the rest of the country. The first event of 2025 was the Superkarts! USA Winter Series event in Orlando, Florida over the January 10-12 weekend. A sold out KA100 Senior division featured tough action across the two rounds of racing before California driver Frankie Mossman emerged at the checkered flag both days to secure his first SKUSA victories.

The Round One action began with a wet track for qualifying where Mossman was seventh in the session overall. He made quick work aboard his Jay Howard Driver Development Kart Republic machine in the Prefinal, driving up to the second spot behind top qualifier Kai Hunter. Frankie was shuffled back to fourth early in the 20-lap main event before he eventually took over the second spot and began running down leader Jose Carlos Hernandez. Prior to the white flag, Mossman was on the bumper of Hernandez and tried in turn 13 for a pass but was unable to complete the pass on the exit. He struck back in turn one after taking the white flag and fended off Hernandez pressure to reach the line first to claim the victory, his first career in SKUSA competition.

The following day for Round Two started with Mossman in fourth for qualifying with Kai Hunter once again in the top spot for the session. Despite leading the majority of the Prefinal, Frankie was pushed back to third by the checkered flag behind Canadian Ty Fisher and Hunter. The three were at the front of the lead pack for much of the 18-lap Final, each taking a turn at the point. The pivotal moment was with two to go as Mossman was able to secure the lead after going three-wide that shuffled up the lead group. As they began battling behind him, Mossman escaped, going on to reach the checkered flag first for a second victory on the weekend.

Mossman wrapped up the SKUSA Winter Series this past weekend with a momentous drive from 18th to 1st in the Round Four action, securing the series championship. With the title, Frankie has earned a entry to the IAME Warrior Final at the International Kartodromo Lucas Guerrero in Valencia, Spain on October 27-November 1.

It will be a busy 2025 season for Mossman as he will continue racing with JHDD in both X30 and KA100 action for the SKUSA Pro Tour and United States Pro Kart Series, with plans to race at the FIA Karting World Championships in the OK division with Kart Republic. When not in a kart, Frankie will race in the USF Pro 2000 presented by Continental Tire series with JHDD where he finished eighth in the championship last season, earning a best finish of third in Portland at the series finale weekend.
