In an effort to support Rockingham in the repaving process for their upcoming NASCAR event, World Karting Association (WKA) officials worked with track personnel to determine the best outcome. With the track under new ownership and going through a rigorous rebuild process that includes repaving the entire facility, originally the move was made from the speedway oval event to the infield road course. After further evaluation and feedback from WKA competitors, and consultation with the track, it was determined that the best course of action was to change venue.

“As the construction process continues, projects shift to areas that NASCAR requires, and we wanted to ensure we could put on the best possible event for our teams and competitors,” explained WKA President Kevin Williams. “The original thought was to transition from the speedway oval onto the infield road course but as the conversations continued, WKA felt it best to support Rockingham in their quest for an amazing NASCAR event, so they can schedule more NASCAR races events in the future.”

Williams continued, “Due to WKA’s rich history at Rockingham, we are in full support of Rockingham’s resurgence and plan to schedule events there in the future when the time is right.”

Along with the National Road Race program, WKA has added the Kart Racing USA (previously CES) to the race weekend, increasing the kart count and competition to a whole new level.

With the details now confirmed, WKA is moving the National Road Race venue to the Nashville Superspeedway, while retaining the dates March 28-30, 2025.  This is an exciting new venue for karting with a challenging 1.3-mile road course that uses up part of the famed speedway and the challenging infield road course.
