Season 11 of the Texas Sprint Racing Series is set to launch in 2025. The International Kart Federation and Superkarts! USA regional program averaged over 180 entries per event during the 2024 season. Similar strong participation is anticipated for the 2025 season, which will feature five events at exciting venues from February through October.

The season kicks off next month with the ‘Winter Warm-Up’ at Speedsportz Racing Park in New Caney, Texas. The opening round will take place February 21-23. The series then heads to the Amarillo Kart Complex for the second round, scheduled for May 30 – June 1. This event, held in Panhandle, Texas, will feature unique ‘Under the Stars’ night racing.

The KartMoto facility in Cresson, Texas, makes a return to the schedule to host Round Three on July 18-20. This track first joined the championship in 2024 and will continue to challenge competitors in the upcoming season. Round Four marks the series’ annual trip outside Texas to NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana. The venue, located just outside New Orleans, will welcome TSRS from September 19-21.

The 2025 championship will conclude at the Dallas Karting Complex in Caddo Mills, Texas, over the weekend of October 17-19. The facility rejoined the TSRS schedule in 2024 and will serve as the backdrop for the season finale.

Classes and Divisions

The 2025 season will feature six 2-cycle classes following the Superkarts! USA ruleset, alongside four Briggs 206 divisions under International Kart Federation regulations. Returning classes include KA100 Senior, KA100 Junior, KA100 Master, Mini Swift, Micro Swift, and Shifters. For the Briggs 206 categories, 206 Senior, 206 Junior, and 206 Cadet are joined by 206 Kid Kart, which transitions from the Honda engine platform. The 206 Heavy division will not return in 2025.

Sponsors and Partnerships

The Texas Sprint Racing Series continues to receive strong support from industry members and non-racing companies alike. Confirmed class sponsors for the 2025 season include Alan Rudolph Racing Academy, Arcane Motorsports, CRG Nordam, Gallery Furniture, GR2 Motorsports, Hi5 Performance, P1 Engines, SlipStream Racing, Speed Concepts Racing, and TB Kart USA. The 2025 TSRS Top Qualifier Cups are presented by RLV, with Precision Performance Karting serving as the hard card sponsor.End of the year Banquet Dinner and Prizes will be brought to you by Sampson Performance Restroation, Kart Racing Solutions, and GFC Karting.

Staff Updates and Track Improvements

The 2025 season will see changes in both on- and off-track staff. Darren McDonague and Robbie Venable have been appointed as race directors, joined by new on-track personnel. Tech inspection will be led by returning expert John Wiegand and industry veteran Rod Verlengiere as well as newly appointed Mike Giessen.

To enhance safety, the series is introducing marshaling lights around the circuits. These lights will allow race directors to display flags for specific areas, particularly under yellow flag conditions, enabling track workers to quickly and safely manage incidents.

Transition to Paperless Systems

The Texas Sprint Racing Series is embracing digital systems for the 2025 season. Paper records, including pre-tech forms and event packets, will be replaced by digital documents available on the series Discord server and website. Updates, schedules, and penalties will also be published on Discord. Limited printed materials will be available upon request, while items such as chassis, tires, and engine seals will be digitally scanned for technical inspection.

“We’ve taken racer feedback to heart to improve operations and procedures,” Lobaugh explained. “Safety remains our top priority, and our updated on-track processes will streamline incident response. Discord has proven to be an excellent resource for communication, allowing racers to get quick answers in a semi-public forum or directly through private messages. It’s an efficient way to keep everyone informed and connected.”

Registration Now Open
