Axis KartSport, a new kart racing team on the West Coast, is set to launch a new driver development program under the leadership of 17-time national champion Matt Johnson and elite coach Connor DiMond of DiMond Driver Development. This small, driver-focused team is dedicated to tailoring its approach to each driver’s unique needs, leveraging the proven fundamentals and methods that Matt and Connor have refined over decades in the sport. Johnson will continue his long-standing and successful relationship with the OTK brand as the operation will become a Redspeed dealer for California. Redspeed will be the official chassis of Axis KartSport.

Matt Johnson is a household name in the karting world, boasting 17 national championships and a track record as a mentor to countless racers who have risen to success in professional motorsports. Known for his methodical approach and passion for nurturing talent, Matt’s influence extends far beyond the podium, shaping the future of the sport through his dedication to driver development.

Connor DiMond brings a wealth of experience as a former Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals Team USA representative and a renowned coach in the karting community. Growing up at his family-owned racetrack in southern California, Connor was immersed in the sport from a young age, learning the intricacies of karting from his father, a celebrated karting coach. His keen analytical skills and commitment to maximizing driver potential have solidified his reputation as one of the sport’s premier coaches.
