Information regarding the future of RaceHero, the live timing and results platform for motorsports, began circulating on social media. Many karting organizations, racetracks and events utilize the RaceHero service. RaceHero is a sub-division of MotorsportsReg, which was acquired by Parella Motorsports Holdings from Hagerty in August 2024. Created in 2003, MotorsportsReg was founded by Brian Ghidinelli which later developed the RaceHero app for live timing and results. Hagerty purchased MotorsportsReg in April 2019.

EKN received the following statement regarding the company:

Effective January 1st, 2025, we will be retiring RaceHero.

This change will affect several key features:

• You will no longer be able to log into the RaceHero Relay.
• RaceHero’s website will no longer provide live timing or access to past results.
• RaceHero APIs will be removed and will no longer function.

Why is RaceHero being shut down?
To best serve the motorsports community, the MotorsportReg team will focus on what we do best: connecting event organizers and attendees in the largest motorsports event marketplace. RaceHero has never been an officially supported integration with MyLaps Orbits, and as such, the maintenance cost is too great to continue to offer this free service.

What should RaceHero users do?
We recommend that all current RaceHero users migrate to an alternate live timing and scoring product. MyLaps offers SpeedHive (https://speedhive.mylaps.com/) as their official product for live timing. There are other competing products available, such as RaceMonitor (https://www.race-monitor.com/).
