It was a trip to the Circuito Internazionale di Napoli in Sarno, Italy for RMC Winter Trophy qualifiers this past weekend. With competitors traveling to Italy from around the world for the annual RMC Grand Finals, six deserving drivers from the RMC Winter Trophy battled at the prestigious event. Five drivers transferred through to the Final, earning one top-ten and four top-20 results against the best Rotax racers globally.

Representing the RMC Winter Trophy and their respective countries, Dominic Vera from Colombia competed in the Micro MAX category, starting the final on the outside of row 12 and driving forward to finish 19th. Four Canadian drivers earned invitations to Italy at the RMC Winter Trophy, including Mini MAX driver Alexis Baillargeon, Junior MAX competitor Nathan Dupuis, MAX DD2 standout Olivier Bedard, and MAX DD2 Master driver David Laplante. Baillargeon gained four positions from where he started the main event to be classified 29th, despite a post-race time penalty, after starting 33rd on the grid out of 72 racers. Bedard gained six positions in the final to be classified 20th in the results, while Laplante was positive four in the main event to turn his P20 starting spot into a 16th place finish. A late addition to Team Canada, Nathan Dupuis only found out about his trip to Italy four weeks before the first session, and while he gained a ton of experience, luck was not on his side through the heat races.

The best driver results for the RMC Winter Trophy came from Brazilian Diego Ramos. After a solid set of heat races lined up the Senior MAX driver in the 31st position for the main event, Diego drove forward 22 positions to net a top-ten result, finishing ninth.
