Las Vegas has been a focal point for the sport of karting dating back to the late 1990s with many major karting events on purpose built and more recently, temporary circuits around ‘Sin City’. Since the loss of the local Las Vegas karting club facility outside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, there has been no central facility for karting in the southern portion of Nevada. Until now!

The Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club has announced the groundbreaking for the new Spring Mountain Karting facility. The motorsports facility in Pahrump, Nevada – roughly one hour from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas – features over 6 miles of racetrack with resort-style amenities. It is home to the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School and the Radical Racing School.

The new Spring Mountain Karting circuit has already completed 30 days of construction in a 45-acre plot at the southeastern portion of the facility. Already paved is the 7.3 acre karting paddock along with the outline of the kart track layout. The course will be built to FIA specifications for regional and national competition. The karting facility will feature the following:

0.73-mile North course
0.40-mile South course
28ft. wide surface
7.3 Acre Paddock
Kart Shop & Storage
Private Garages
Control Tower and Viewing Area
Rental Karts
Member’s Lounge

Reviewing the images published of the Spring Mountain Karting facility, it’s north course is a replica of the former Race Kart City Raceway – renamed Las Vegas Karting Center and X-Plex – located on the south end of Las Vegas before shutting down in the early 2000s.
