A new grassroots effort is underway to help fuel the continuing growth of KA100 Masters racing in the United States. This new push is being directed by Lockport, IL racer Kevin Kullman, who has stepped up to sponsor the category on the Route 66 Sprint Series under his team name -Meaner Weiner Racing – which is a partnership with his teammates Brian Janty and Nick Rogutich. In addition, Kullman has pushed beyond the basic sponsorship of the class with an effort on GoFundMe that is designed to provide a full entry (including tires) to a lucky KA100 Master driver.
“I love racing Masters and I love the vision Chris Kardashian has for regional karting,” Kullman told EKN. “Sponsoring the class is my way of giving back to guys who’ve become lifelong friends. I stepped away from a 14-year career on the PBA Tour when I saw that there was a class for guys 30 and over. Since then, I’ve watched our local Wisconsin-based TaG Masters Championship grow from 7-9 entries to an average of 23 drivers in 2023. I’m hoping that this effort we’re putting forth for the season will attract Masters guys to check a Route 66 event off their bucket list. I’d really like to see us get to 15 entries so that we can compete for the KA100 prize package for the champion, courtesy of Chris Kardashian, Route 66, and IAME USA East.”

The Route 66 Sprint Series attracted 13 different drivers to its events in 2023, and Kullman aims to push that number to 15+ as the category continues to grow. Adam Crepin was the Route 66 class champion last year. Series promoter Chris Kardashian remains focused on his program tagline – Great Tracks, Great Racing, Great Fun. The series kicks off on the May 3-5 weekend at New Castle Motorsports Park, and then travels to Whiteland Raceway Park (July 5-7), Road America (August 23-25), and Mill-Rite Raceway (September 20-22).
