Winner Announced for Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix Briggs & Stratton 206 Engine

One of the motivations for competitors to enter early to the 2022 Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix was the chance to enter the Briggs & Stratton 206 Engine Raffle. Racers who registered prior to the August 1 date were eligible to enter the drawing for a race-ready engine package courtesy of National Karting Alliance and Schurr Power Racing Engines.

The winner was drawn from eligible names in a hat is current eKartingNews.com Shifterkart Driver Rankings #1 driver AJ Myers from Statesville, North Carolina.

Myers, making his first start at the Rock Island Grand Prix in 2022, is registered to compete in the coveted King of the Streets category along with Open Shifter. The question now is will we see him racing this new race-ready Briggs 206 engine in any of the Briggs classes, including the King of the Rock?

This year marks the 27th running of the world’s greatest karting street race on Sept. 3-4 in Rock Island, Ill. A full list of Briggs, Ignite, shifter, vintage and 2 cycle classes will be featured including the King of the Streets shifter class and King of the Rock 206 and 100cc events. Also new this year is an Exhibition Race on both Saturday and Sunday featuring electric-powered karts.
