The first California State Champion crossed the finish line in the early Sixties. That was the beginning of a tradition that has spanned over five decades and crowned champions of all ages. In 2015, Tri-C Karters resurrected the California State Karting Championship after a five year hiatus and on the weekend of June 17-19, 2016 another California State Champion will roar past the checkered flags!

Returning for a second year, title sponsor APM Racing has partnered with Tri-C Karters to make the 48th Annual California State Karting Championships possible. Keeping in mind the goal of as much track time as possible and with input from last year’s drivers, this year’s updated race format will include:

Friday – official practice day

Saturday – warm up session, qualifying and two heat races

Sunday – warm up sessions, main event and podium presentations

Every pre-registered driver (by May 31st) will receive a free driver’s only CSKC event t-shirt. During Friday’s official practice day, the In ‘n Out Burger truck will return! A free lunch from the California icon is included with the purchase of every 3-day event pit pass or Friday practice driver pass. Free overnight camping will be available on Friday and Saturday nights.

One very exciting addition to the race weekend will be the presence of Kart Racer TV filming the weekend’s events. Utilizing multiple on track camera angles, aerial shots and onboard footage the final produced film will show each Main Event race in its entirety with dual live color commentary, driver and sponsor interviews and podium presentations. It will be available to all on the world’s most watched network—YouTube!

CalSpeed, the premier kart racing facility of Southern California, will host this event with a unique track configuration designed solely for the CSKC. It is a fast, technical layout that will challenge the abilities of the best drivers in the region.

As has been tradition for the California State Karting Championship, a custom engraved watch will be awarded to every class champion. Custom trophies will be awarded in first, second and third place. Additional prizes and cash purses will be announced as details are finalized.
