The weather was warm and sunny for Race 2 of the Manitoba Karting Championship at Gimli Motorsport Park unlike Race 1 which was cancelled because of bad weather. The sponsor for Race 2 was Criti Care EMS.

Junior 1 Briggs was won by Ethan Clace with Josh Gill 2^nd.

Junior 2 Briggs had more excitement with Jaedin Wright on pole. It was a tight battle with the top three changing spots lap after lap on the final lap Bianca Bovino got by Jaedin to win with Jaedin 2^nd and Jarrod Melanchuk 3^rd.

Senior Briggs is the MKA’s biggest and the most crowd pleasing class. John Buzza had pole and lead flag to flag but behind him everyone was challenging for 2^nd place. First it was Travis MacDonald, then Cole Manning, but by the final lap Stephen Bachalo took the runner-up spot. John won with Stephen 2^nd and Travis 3^rd.

Micro Max had Brad Bachalo on pole and he won easily with Tiana Bovino 2^nd and Mandy Veselinovich 3^rd.

In Mini Max Curtis Veselinovich got the lead at the start and held on to win with Rylan Despins 2^nd and Logan McDonald 3^rd.

Junior Rotax had Stephen Bachalo on pole but he only managed to hold the lead till lap 5 when Bryson McDonald took over. Bryson lead until lap 12 when he dropped out with mechanical problems. Stephen retook the lead with Victoria Stutsky on his back bumper. At the finish it was Stephen 1^st, Victoria 2^nd and Jaedin Wright 3^rd.

Senior Rotax had John Buzza on pole and he took off with Garrett Gulenchyn right behind him. Meanwhile P3-P6 were changing positions throughout the race. At the finish it was John 1^st, Garrett 2^nd and Colin Farebrother 3^rd.

The new DD2/DD2 Masters race looks like it can challenge the Senior Briggs class for most excitement. John Buzza had pole and lead DD2 until he dropped out with mechanical problems on lap 10. Mark Sawatsky starting at the back after a crash in the Pre-Final and sliced his way through the field to take the lead after John dropped out. Behind Mark three karts went off in the final turn. At the finish in DD2 it was John 1^st, Jordan Brown 2^nd and Tyler Perreaux recovering from his off track excursion to finish 3^rd. In the DD2 Masters it was Stan Siemens 1^st, Matt Sinclair 2^nd and Brian Schiewe 3^rd.

Next race is Sunday June 14 at Gimli Motorsport Park and it is the last stop of the Autism Awareness Tour. The fastest karters in Manitoba along with Austin Riley will be hitting the track. For more information on the MKA, visit http://www.manitobakarting.ca
