Race #4 (June 14) of the Sanzaru Games Karting Championships is the official beginning of the summer portion of the 2015 racing schedule. The series will return to a long straightaway track layout, the Reverse National configuration of the Simraceway International Karting Center and the Stock Honda Masters class will be the featured GoPro class.

The Stock Honda Masters will be able to stretch their legs on the Reverse National layout after the last couple of months on tight track configurations. The Stock Honda Masters class is the biggest growth class that is not Rotax in the 2015 season. Finishing 2014 with four or five drivers per race, the first three races of 2015 has had an average of 11 drivers per race. There have been three different winners at the first three races and there are now at least six drivers who have or can win any race, any month.

Stock Honda Masters is back as the most competitive shifter class in the Sanzaru Games Karting Championship. David Arnstein comes into the 2015 season looking to see if he can get over the hump and win the class championship after three years of just missing out. After winning the class championship at the last race in 2014, Reni Martinelli is looking to continue his championship ways this year. After showing lots of speed in the previous two years, Patrick O’Neill has now proven he can win after his first feature win in Race #1. Justin Bennett joined the list of class winners with his breakout win at Race #2. This list of winners also includes multi class champ Jim Inglebright, who is always a contender at any race. Add in Matt Alcorn, who is returning to the series this year, and Brad Shaffer to the mix and there is a lot of talent up front in this class this year.

The Molecule Rotax classes are the strongest they have been in series history with large fields and lots of competitive drivers looking to taking podium finishes. One will be able see some top Rotax regional racing at Race #4.

The race weekend will start with a Practice day on Saturday, which will also feature two Simraceway Arrive and Drive classes. All Sanzaru Games Series classes will be able to get in as many as eight practice sessions during the day. Practice starts at 8:30 AM and runs to 6:00 PM. Registration will open at 7:30 AM. Practice is open to all drivers who are up to normal racing speeds with a kart that meets current karting safety specifications. Cost is $50.

Sunday’s race day begins at 8:10 AM with a quick round of practice for the nine race groups followed by a five lap group Qualifying session, two eight lap Pre-Mains and a 15 lap Main. Registration will open at 6:45 AM. Race Entry is $100, $15 for transponder rental if needed, $10 for all crew and spectators, and kids under 12 years old are $5. Registration is at the administration building on the right side as you enter Sonoma Raceway, look for the Sanzaru Games Registration sign.
