Jagger Jones and Sting Ray Robb Selected to Represent USA in the 2015 CIK Karting Academy Trophy

Jagger Jones and Sting Ray Robb will represent the United States of America at the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy program for 2015

From a list of rising karting stars, Jagger Jones and Sting Ray Robb were recently selected as representatives of the USA to participate in the 2015 CIK Karting Academy Trophy. After soliciting interested drivers aged 13 to 15 from the United States, the WKA Board of Trustees considered all applicants’ resumes, and made the selection in their most recent meeting.

An honor student from Scottsdale, Arizona, Jagger Jones comes from a long line of motorsport professionals, with his famous grandfather, Parnelli Jones, and equally famous father PJ Jones. Jagger has already had a taste of international competition, finishing tenth out of 105 drivers in the 2014 Rok Cup International Final at Lonato, Italy. Coming off his SKUSA National Championship last year, Jagger made the step up to Junior this year, poised to take on the international field.

Also no stranger to international competition, Sting Ray Robb, from Boise, Idaho, has made trips to the Rotax Grand Finals the past two years. Most recently at the Rotax Finals in Spain, Sting Ray was the top qualifying American, and the top finishing North American Junior. As an Academic Champion of his school district, with straight A’s, Sting Ray balances his personal life while still a regular top performing in karting.

As the only global program of its kind, the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy utilizes strictly identical equipment, swapped randomly over three race weekends, and strives to highlight fair competition. In its fifth year, the program strives to reveal karting talent, who later reach the highest level of karting before succeeding into cars.
