Canadian Rotax Summer Challenge Gathering Solid Prize Package
Since the announcement of the Canadian Rotax Summer Challenge race to be held on July 30-August 2, the promoters have been bombarded with questions. The promoters are pleased to release important prize information and to roll out another string of announcements for racers and teams alike to prepare for the event scheduled for the Edmonton District Kart Racing Association (EDKRA) facility – located about 45 minutes west in Warburg, Alberta, Canada.
Prizes are coming in heavy for all classes and the recent highlight is the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals ticket, which will be awarded to the champion of the DD2 Masters category – courtesy of SRA Karting. Mosport Kartways is proud to present entries to the Canadian Karting Championships to racers of the Canadian Rotax Summer Challenge.
Andy Seesemann from the Rotax Challenge of the Americas has stepped up with entries to the final round of his 2016 program. “I am excited to offer these prizes to the Canadian Rotax Summer Challenge. Since the inception of the Challenge of the Americas, Canadian racers have been a vital part of the success of our series. It started with our first Junior Max Champion Phillip Orcic and continues today with names like Choquer, Dowler, Fulham, Ritter and Kacic. I am happy to introduce our brand of racing to several more Canadians next year.”
Finally, there will be two entries to the US Open finale in Las Vegas this November for Mini Max and DD2 Masters, brought to you by Overdrive Motorsports.
Prize allocation for the Canadian Rotax Summer Challenge is as follows:
Micro, Junior, Senior, Masters FR125 Max:
1st place – Canadian Karting Championships entry and tires
2nd place – Challenge of the Americas 2016 final weekend entry
3rd place – TBA
Mini Max:
1st place – US Open Las Vegas entry and tires
2nd place – Canadian Karting Championships entry and tires
3rd place – Challenge of the Americas 2016 final weekend entry
DD2 Masters:
1st place – RMCGF ticket
2nd place – US Open Las Vegas entry and tires
3rd place – Challenge of the Americas 2016 final weekend entry
The series is also wanting to gauge interest from the DD2 Senior and six-speed shifter kart community. As with new trends for shifter club racing, the rules would be pretty basic as any 125cc – 6-speed gearbox kart would be welcome. Please contact the promoters to inform them if you would like to attend this event. The event will also feature LO206 racing for all age groups. The entire LO206 program will run on Saturday evening with practice, qualifying and racing all under the lights.
