CRG Has Strong Showing at Rotax Challenge of Americas
CRG started off the 2015 racing season in strong fashion at the first round of the Rotax Challenge of Americas event in Tucson, AZ January 10-11.
With two major teams, CRG USA and PSL West, in attendance covering a variety of classes, CRG was able to win two classes and add other podiums over the weekend. Team PSL West’s Sebastien Alvarez was able to qualify off pole for Saturday’s race in his CRG Mini Hero X2 101 chassis. Alvarez went on to win the Pre-Final by two tenths of a second with Marco Kacic coming home fifth. In the Saturday main, there were three CRG’s in the top 5. Sunday was much of the same as two CRG’s made it in the top four as Alvarez again took the win in the Pre-Final and led all the way in the main to sweep Sunday’s races. With the new Rotax rules of the Mini-Max class requiring 1010 mm wheel base, the CRG Mini Hero X2 looks like the chassis to beat.
DD2 was all about CRG for the majority of the weekend. CRG USA’s Sabre’ Cook took the Pre-Final win on Saturday followed by the races fast lap holder, PSL West’s Matt Jaskol in third. Saturday’s main was all Sabre’ Cook as she pulled away from the rest of the field with CRG USA’s Christian Bird taking the final podium position. On Sunday, Sabre’ Cook continued with a win in the Pre-Final. For the final Sabre’ set fast lap and would end up in second with Matt Jaskol in third.
With the first big event for 2015 in the books, CRG Nations is ready for a great year with CRG and in particular the Rotax series. K1 Group’s/CRG Nations, Tyler Brooks attended the first Challenge of Americans event and was able to meet with many CRG dealers and clients. “Overall the first presence for us at CRG Nations was a success and we look forward to these upcoming years and more progress with the CRG brand moving forward ” said Tyler. With the transition happening very smoothly, look for CRG to be running up front in the coming months during the Florida Winter Tour events.
