Winter Kart Show A Must See in Springfield

One of the longest running winter kart trade shows and swap meets sponsored by the Mid-State Kart Club (MSKC) of Springfield, IL will again return to the Illinois State Fairgrounds Orr Building on January 24 and 25.  This year marks the 25th year in a row that Mid-State Kart Club hosts the annual winter event.  After a successful and nearly sold-out show in January of 2014, The Winter Kart Show is returning to the 40,000 square feet Orr Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.  This show will provide an opportunity to see many new 2015 kart racing chassis models all in one location along with new and used kart parts for sale.  Last year’s show had new sprint karts on display from manufacturers such as Margay, Merlin, Tony Kart, Corsa, DR and Top Kart.  Oval karts will be on display from several vendors.  Many kart racing tracks and series will be giving out information.  Vintage karts will also be on display.

Major kart shops such as Laukaitis Racing, House of Custom, Express Karts & Parts, Viking and Kart Warehouse USA will be in attendance with a large inventory of parts and great show specials.  Commitments to attend have also been received from KartLift High Performance Stands along with their DeepSeat products, Oktane Visual graphics and custom helmet painting, Bell Helmets, Alliance Race Wear, Barnes Power Plants, Bland Brothers oval karts, HMR Kart Shop, Schaeffer’s Lubricants and AMSOIL.  Kart tracks and series will handing out information from Mid-State Raceway, St. Louis Karting Association, Quincy Karting, Kartplex at Gateway, Badger Kart Club, Championship Enduro Series, Cerro Speedway, Ealeyville Speedway and the Rock Island Grand Prix.  For an updated list of vendors check the ekartingnews.com Event Information forums.

The MSKC Winter Kart Show and Swap Meet is scheduled for Saturday Jan. 24 (11 am to 6 pm) and Sunday Jan. 25 (9 am to 3 pm).  General admission is $7 for adults with children 12 and under admitted free.  Swap booths are available to the public and can be reserved in advance at a discounted rate. Vendors can setup their booths on Friday starting at 2 pm or on Saturday morning starting at 7 am. The Orr Building has large overhead doors that allow vendors to drive their vehicles and trailers into the building for setup.

Proceeds from the show will benefit the Mid-State Kart Club and allow them to make track repairs and upgrades to the club owned facility, Mid-State Raceway.  Swap booths can still be reserved and walk-up swap booths will be available on both days to the public for $40 which includes one admission pass.  Visit www.WinterKartShow.com to download a registration form or call Russ Kemple at 217-553-3613 for more information.  For more information about Mid-State Kart Club, visit www.midstatekartclub.com.
