Always fighting to stay at the top of the mountain that is North American kart racing, CRG USA has been working at a fever pitch, only a week in to 2015. The newly named master distributor for the CRG chassis line in North America has been working overtime to get ready for what is going to be a very busy 2015, with a jam packed winter season to kick things off. The North American CRG factory team will embark on a 22 day road trip covering over 3,000 miles that will take them from their home base in Colorado to the first two rounds of the premier winter karting series in the country, the Rotax Challenge of the Americas, and the Florida Winter Tour.

“All of us at CRG USA have been looking forward to 2015 as soon as 2014 ended,” Stacey Cook said while preparing for the road trip. “We have never taken on a schedule like this, but with the drivers, tuners, and families we are going to have under the tent, we are expecting nothing but the best results during the upcoming winter season.”

Departing from Grand Junction, Colorado the team will head to Tucson, Arizona, the sight of the first two rounds of the Rotax Challenge of the Americas, taking place January 9-11. Hosted by the Musselman Honda Circuit, CRG USA will support four drivers across three classes. A pair of Grand Junction natives, and long time competitors will join forces for the first time under the CRG USA tent to represent the team in the competitive DD2 category. Sabre Cook and Christian Bird will hit the track in Tucson fighting to earn a COTA championship and in turn, a ticket to the 2015 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. Cook ran the full Challenge schedule last year where she scored two wins, and earned a runner-up finish in the championship fight. Bird, who joins CRG USA for the first time competed in two of the three weekends in last year’s series. Bird finished off the podium only once in the four rounds in which he competed.

“I’m really looking forward to joining CRG USA for the Challenge this year,” Said Bird. “The atmosphere under the tent is one of the best I have ever been apart of. It will be easy to go fast.”

Also competing for CRG USA in Tucson will be a pair of Masters Max drivers. Perry Needham and Kurt Fisher. Fisher is looking to improve on his 2014 results at Tucson, where he earned back-to-back sixth place finishes. New Mexico youngster Corbyn Andrews will join the fun in Tucson as well in the Mini Max class. Completing his rookie season in 2014, under the watchful eye of Christian Bird, Andrews competed in several national level events including the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix as a TaG Cadet racer. The team is expecting Andrews to run well, and do not think a podium is out of question for young Corbyn. In Mini Max is Braden Hindson of Grand Junction. Hindson will kick off another season with his friends at CRG USA by competing in his first Challenge of the Americas.

From Tucson, the CRG USA rig will head directly across country to the southern tip of Florida where the team will set up at the Homestead Miami Speedway for the first weekend of the Florida Winter Tour. January 16-18 will be the opening weekend of the Rok Cup portion of the FWT. CRG USA is bringing big hitters to the first East coast race of the New Year, and all in the ultra competitive KZ category. Five drivers will represent the CRG Factory team in Miami. All coming from CRG USA’s strong connections south of the border, Victor Jimenez leads a quintuplet of Mexico native’s. Juan Garcia, Eduardo Espindola, Fazi Did, and Rafa Santillan will represent CRG USA in a very stout KZ field in Miami. The youngest of the CRG USA racers at the first Florida weekend will be Esteban Jimenez, who will do battle in the Mini Rok division.

Five days after the Rok Cup signals marks the start of the FWT Rotax championship. Also taking place at Homestead Karting, the Rotax weekend will be full of the country’s best Rotax pilots looking to earn their tickets to this year’s Grand Finals. The CRG USA Rotax driver roster is growing every day, with plenty of spots still open at the time of release. Highlighting the Rotax lineup for CRG USA is a trio of European talents. CRG USA factory driver Davide Fore of Italy is sure to be found running at the front of the DD2 field in Miami. Joining Fore in DD2 will be fellow countryman, Paolo De Conto. The Rotax FWT weekend will be where De Conto will make his highly anticipated race debut aboard his new CRG in Miami, after switching teams over the offseason. Also making the jump to the CRG chassis line for 2015 is Edward Brand of England. Brand will wave the CRG USA flag in the Senior Max category. Doubling down on his winter karting fun will be Kurt Fisher, as he will join the team in Florida just two weeks after his trip to Tucson competing in the Rotax Challenge of the America’s first weekend.

The team will have a secret weapon tucked away in the CRG USA tent over the next few weeks also. Factory driver Joey Wimsett will act as CRG USA’s data acquisition engineer in Tucson, and will provide mechanical support in Florida.
