Chris, I'm not sure how many shifters run on the sprint track at NJ. So I just went back through our records to get an idea of how we use to gear for various sprint tracks. We were running a mod Honda at the time, so your results may vary. It was also back in 2000 - 2002.
I'd start with a 15 driver, and have a 26, 27, and 28 axle gears. Or whatever combo you can come up with to get you in that ballpark. (1.73 to 1.87 ratios).
Let us know who might be going. We may run over and have a look.
Hope that helps (even though it might be way off)

Thanks Clark!! Why not load up the shifter and get Junior down there?? Right now confirmed it is Phil, John and myself, with Bear thinking about it. I think we will have a great time, a couple other of my friends will be there running their ICC...hope we see you there _________________ STOCK HONDA SODI KART

Haha, I just put up a new topic for same thing. I did overhear at the last race something like 14/24 , which is 1.7413. I'm gonna wear my arms out . Better get the weights out this week. _________________ Bear #13

Bear, talking with Tim Armstrong (he ran the track before the changes), he was thinking a 15/22 or 15/23 would be the place to start _________________ STOCK HONDA SODI KART

Ill start with tim's advice. I still need to get my junk out of the trailor . Need to go over everything and set it up like Shenandoah course. That should be a good starting point. _________________ Bear #13

15/25 was much too short.
His advice sounds right. |

| Joda has all the info on the old Tempest track, I will post when I get it. The new track looks faster, I would gear for at least 90 mph. It's a fun track, it does get rubbered up quickly so you will want a loose set up. I think they require air boxes on all motos, but we used our air filters on our stockers. We thought we would loose too much against the mods, and we didn't care about points. Bear the track wasn't as physically demanding as you'd think, fast but not a lot of g's on the neck. My opinion anyway |

Haha, wasn't worried bout neck , I was thinking there's going to be a lot of one armed driving and the other constantly on the shifter. _________________ Bear #13

Bear,
One of my friends that runs the Tempest track said that we should gear for 90 mph also. I was going to start with 18/24 and see how that goes! We do have a few other shifters going as well. D. Harding wants in and Virgil Gross (Sprint Tag) just purchased a Stock Honda and is bringing it out for a shake down. I also have another friend with a Mod that is coming. I did tell Sam Bocchino about it also but I'm not sure if he's coming. Sounds like a good time! _________________ Praga/Stock Honda/CPI |

When is this event? Are all 125 shifters running together? How many are expected?
Thank You. |

Full-width rear bumpers (plastic or metal) are mandatory for 2010
Does this apply for this sprint race? |
