It appears that the IRL will be awarding a Road Race Championship, A Oval Track Championship , and an Overall Series Championship. this year . What are your thoughts on that ? Also does that favor any certain Driver/ Team ? _________________ Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting, "Holy **** what a ride!!!". |

I guess as a long time IndyCar fan, it doesn't do much for me. I don't care that they're doing it, but I'm not going to jump up & down about it either.
If the drivers like it, more Power (pun intended) to them. _________________ Spec TaG Masters @ NCMP / #23 |

If the IRL stays on Versus for most of their TV coverage it soon won't matter. I haven't seen an IRL race since mid last year since I have DirecTV and Comcast won't let Direct carry Versus. Out of sight, out of mind.
I really hoped that after the unification, interest in the IRL would start to grow again. It's not happening, and it's not going to happen with the IRL on Versus.

We have direct tv and we have been able to watch all the indy car races, Versus doesnt show up on the guide but if you just punch in 603 the channel will come up, We thought we had lost the channel as well untill our tivo recorded the first race, Weird its been off the guide for months but you can still watch the channel, You just cant see whats coming up _________________ www.accelerationkarting.com

I dont care for the 3 championship thing at all. They had to make "some" (cough!) drivers happy who can't drive worth a ****. I'd bet almost anything that the driver who win's road and street finishes higher in the overall than whoever wins oval. If you can drive, you should be able to drive em all and not whine about all the road races.
Comcast and Directv came to an agreement the week of the first race and every race has been on. You guys might have to fix your settings if it doesnt show up in the guide.
Click Menu on your remote
Then select Parental, Fav's & Setup
Then Favorite Channels
My guess would be you guys have all the meaningless channels edited off the guide. _________________ R3 --- (Robby Harper III)

Maybe next week they'll add the "womens" championship to really stimulate some interest by the "fans"
Should have a "masters" championship and maybe best dancer too.
American open wheel racing at its best... sad state of affairs.

Thats funny Steve. Womens championship. They could also change the name to Global Indy Racing League Series |

In the glory days of CART, they were on the verge of marketing CART's champion as the true world champion. They were correct, IMHO, as the CART champion had to be fast on ovals, road courses and streets.
The new move is a step backward for my money. I say market the diversity and say that this is what makes the new IRL the most valid championship around! |

Do any of you remember the Indy TRIPLE CROWN POCONO , INDY , ONTARIO ? Diversafication of Chasis ,Motors is what is needed today . Small motors ,turbo charging and even diesel fuel combinations would make it more interesting for the fans _________________ Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting, "Holy **** what a ride!!!". |
