|
|
This weekend marks the return to action for the WKA Manufacturer's Cup Series with the running of the MKP Nationals at the Michiana Raceway Park in South Bend, IN. This will be Round 2 of the five race program, having last raced during the Daytona KartWeek event back in December 2009.
The event is set to be another stellar mark for the number of competitors and entries with a full paddock estimated on the weekend. Friday will be the official practice day with racing on Saturday and Sunday. EKN will post some notes here and the Preview on Friday with full Trackside Live coverage coming Saturday and Sunday, including the popular Top-10 results from each on-track session. Each night, a daily report along with photos and results will be posted as well. _________________ David Cole

I'm looking forward to getting back to racing again, so this comes at a great time. MWSS was at MRP last weekend and the place looks great. Garry and his staff were very accommodating and great hosts. Looking forward to another visit this weekend. _________________ High Quality American Made kart stands. Can't wait to go to a race and actually just race. Running four classes will be a relaxing change of pace!
Looking forward to a soggy, wet weekend. Seriously, I really am! |

EKN TRACKSIDE UPDATE:
Good afternoon everyone. Practice for today has just two hours remaining. The weather is above average for this time of year in South Bend which is a welcome to the many racers in attendance. Entry numbers are above 400 with a projection of at least 450 for the weekend, and the paddock is packed to prove it.
Remember, if you have any questions or comments, let us know. _________________ David Cole

how is tag masters looking? I might have to strap a rocket onto my First Kart and see what I can do at the NJ wka race.

8 entered in TaG Masters.
I'd take you up on that challenge but I'm about 4 years short of their age minimum. If they did it by weight, I'd be there.
BTW, I'll make sure to tell Whisler you said HI. _________________ David Cole

Yes, any time the 'extra weight' drivers are allowed, I run Masters. _________________ David Cole

Hi Jeff, as you know, they do not run transponders on Friday so we have no 'official' times just those told by stopwatches. I will say that in the TaG categories, the racing should be good with a number of strong drivers in the field. Keep your eye on Giessen. Of course the Junior and Cadet fields are stacked. Regarding photos, we will have photos from Saturday and Sunday, both from On Track Promotions and Go Racing Magazine. _________________ David Cole
