How long is Johnson going to stand on his pedestal before someone takes out his knees?

If Gordon is this mad and the person he is mad at just happens to be his teammate then this could spell trouble for one of them. I will say that karma came around and got jimmie though.

I'm not familiar with the incident...but isn't it true that Johnson winning all the races over the last few years provides the money for Gordon to pay the bills???

the race purse is a small fraction of what the teams income are. Gordons name pay the bills but Earnhardt being on the hendrick team pays the bills as much as johnson winning all these races.

FYI - Jeff is majority owner of the 48 team with Hendricks and Jeff made the original decision to hire Johnson. Tough to fire the guy when he is winning championships.

GREG: " JOHNSON IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME PERIOD " YEAH RIGHT Embarassed And where have you been living Question On planet BELDAR Question I should take his LUCK and go to VEGAS for a week Laughing Probably would not hurt to take CHEATER CHAD and his LOADED DICE with me. Yes he did receive 4 nice trophies BUT I still feel they are SOMEWHAT TAINTED Embarassed Lately it would appear that he NEEDS to go back to DRIVERS SCHOOL for a few REFRESHER COURSES. Laughing

@ Chris...I know the bulk of money comes from sponsorships and not race purses. Winning attracts sponsors.

kevin C: Somewhat but maybe only 75% Not a whole lot of companies today have $20 million burning a hole in their corp pockets.
While many sponsors Do want the Joe Smuck consumers $$ Ultimately it is many times a Business to Business oppurtunity . Look what just happened to RCR /Harvick losing Shell to Penske .In this case it is how Shell can expand their business with a PLATFORM already in place . And if I am not mistaken Penske still has 2 Indy cars NOT SPONSORED .though I am sue they will have some signage on them for the INDY 500. A lot more goes on in these Sponsorships than you may realize. Look at some of the top teams with CHASE Points having to Share or alternate Sponsorship at every other race event?

now dont get me wrong jimmy johnson is good but i think if you take chad kanaus(spelling) out of the picture it maybe a different story. it seems to me that most of the 48's wins come off of pit strategy and what not.

i cant see jimmie coming out on top of this scuffle i just think jeff has more allies and more influence over the garage. and to say that Jimmie is the GREATEST is to say the you are crazy. when he wins another championship with another crew cheif then maybe you can say that. lets remember that gordon has championships with two crew chief ans Earnhardt has several diferent crew chiefs that he won championships with.

When or if Chad ever leaves then we can narrow down who is the great one, jimmie or chad.

Has anyone wondered how much "Show Biz" there is in some of these rivalries and feuds?
