On a World Formula, I want to check my clutch but I don't have an impact wrench or the briggs flywheel tool. Do you think it would be ok to use a strap wrench and hold the flywheel cup with it while using the wrench on the bolt?. Would that work? Or am I going to damage the cup or something else?

Have you tried the method that 'jjchat' posted in response to your question on the 4cycle forums? Before I got the impact driver, that method worked for me. I had better luck with a regular hammer, instead of the dead-blow hammer.

If you are tightening the bolt, I use the old 'pull the starter rope' method to hold the flywheel still... haven't broken anything yet

Not yet, I had bad luck rounding up screw heads like that. I was kind of hoping for a different method.
Do you know if to get to the Flywheel do I just have to loosen up 3 screws that hold the blowing housing to the block and pull it out? Or do I have to take out any other stuff before I do that? I was thinking that I may have to loosen the cylinder shield or the Control panel thingy, am I right? Just trying to figure how big task it is going to be before I go for it. Just want to be prepared.

Do you have a harbor freight tools close by? I think I paid maybe 40 bucks for my cordless impact and it's the best "optional" tool purchase I've ever made. In contrast to a lot of the other stuff I've bought at HF, it doesn't seem to be a POJ 
Well worth it IMHO. |

LOL Unfortunately no, I live in a small country called Costa Rica. I guess I'll go to my local hardware store see if I can find a cheap cordless impact wrench. Man my credit card is hurting.

If you have a local mechanic who uses air tools you could just ask them to spin it off for you.
Also, you can sometimes just wedge a screwdriver into the ring gear to hold the flywheel.

Four screws.. There's one hidden at the upper right. The blower housing can come off without removing anything else. Note that three are metric and the lower left one is standard. (at least on my gen 3)

Thank you Wayne really appreciate it. I ended up ordering this wrench on amazon Strap Wrench, hopefully this will be big enough to go around the flywheel and just loosen the nut like this. I'll take off the blower housing tonight just for the hell of it. And man do they try to confuse newbies like me using both metric and standard.
