That's not new. They get 8(?) engines per car for the season. You install #9, get a penalty. They can even re-install #1 if they want to. |
True, but I thought the cars were impounded between qualifying & the race. If you can’t change as much as a wing setting I’m surprised you can change the engine!
Perhaps Chad is right. Suppose one of your engines is a good bit stronger then the rest, (for whatever reason), you could use it only for qualifying all season. |
