Can someone tell me what difference the flex of an axle makes to the performance and handling of a kart?

If the axle has alot of flex, the tire won't sit flat on the road in a turn. If the axle is stiff, the tire will stay straight and maintain a good contact patch. That's why karts have a third bearing, to keep the axle from flexing up in the middle too much.
