Don't get me wrong, I think that dynos are a very useful tool. Look at Mike Floyd's post about putting a motor on the dyno, running it, then making changes and dyno-ing again. Dynos are merely another tool to be used, but they are not the "be all end all". We use both of our dynos every day at the shop, and we have learned a lot using them. It is ultimately on the track, with proper chassis setup and good driving where the real results show. There are many reputable builders out there. Find one that gives you good power and great service.

P.S. Mark,Jr., the bad part is it will only get worse. As your skills start to surpass your Dad's, he'll get sneakier. He'll still find a way to try to beat you. That's the edge that the "old guys" have...

Andy,
I agree totally....Like I mentioned in a previous post I always felt I had fast motors and I do but I wasn't competitive till the begining of this year. I discovered that the clutch motor and chassis all have to be tuned together. When this is acomplished you have a package that is competitive. I worked my but off this off season to try to improve my times and now its paying off! My engine builder is awsome! George @ Powerworks answers all my questions in the simplest terms with brutal honesty. I respect that. But like most people already know the fast engine is nothing with out the rest of the package working well.
