You're right Tom. I'd think all the karters would be proud of her, but some are just too jealous to admit she is a racer.
Danica may be a pint sized female, but she is a driver.

| Attempting to hijack the thread, I'm watching the hype for the upcoming race....did I just see Derek Cope on the stage in a drivers uniform? Derek Cope? |

she did look pretty good out there but keep it in perspective, she arguably had the best equipment out there, and she was racing in a league comprised mostly of rookies. let's see how she does in the nationwide series. personally i hope she does good because she drives for junior. _________________ Blaise Haynes

What a crashfest! You appreciate how good the Sprint Cup drivers are after seeing them race after ARCA.
Danica did well! Good for her after getting pushed onto the grass by Nelson Piquet Jr. |

It was her first race in a stock car. She did great. _________________ Sex is like pizza. When it's good it's great and when it's bad, it's still pretty good. |

A big SHOUT OUT should go to ALI OWENS running 3rd most of the race till she lost the draft and got shuffeled back Good run ALI. _________________ Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting, "Holy **** what a ride!!!". |

She was in a great spot to win the race. She ran real strong. _________________ Sex is like pizza. When it's good it's great and when it's bad, it's still pretty good. |

TJ, i wasn't dissing her. she did pretty good for her first time in a stock car. but you have to remember what type of equipment she had and the level of expertise of the competition. i'm quite sure she had the beast built chassis and engine out there and with the exception of a handful of drivers, most were also rookies at this level. it's hard to rate her based on this, kinda like comparing apples to oranges. _________________ Blaise Haynes

Its a crash fest every year...Part of the reason why I watch it.
Did anyone see Danica let go of the wheel as she neared the wall as she would in the open wheel!? I found that pretty cool.. Her car was certainly fast..And should be with all the resources that the team has.
Knowing first hand....Most racers can hold the peddle wide open. The real test (IMO) will be at a short track or 1.5 mile courses....The learning curve will be even steeper.! |

Who thinks she will be stepping into Mark Martins ride in a year or two ???
Go Daddy seems to be her gig ...
Not a bad replacement for Gordon either.. (sales wise)
And ... it kinda ties in with Kesolowski leaving for Penske...
I think Nascar/Hendricks will slow roll this for max mileage...
Hendricks would (does?) own Nascar Gordon, Johnson, Jr, Danica .....
It sure fell into Danica's camp ... Nascar needing a boost...
Somebody should flop down 50mil so Hendricks would bring his line up to the IRL hmm... 50 might not be near enough ...
Man I know to much Nascar triv ... _________________ TBD |

i think the plan is for her to replace martin, thats my thoughts on it. from a marketing standpoint i think losing keselowski and gaining danica was a great move. didn't mark sign a 2 year extension recently? that would give her till 2012 to figure it out. seems reasonable. run as many nationwide and ARCA races as she can this year then the same (or full time) next year (not sure what her contract is in the IRL). then full time in Cup. i think her biggest challenge will be the conflict with her IRL contract. _________________ Blaise Haynes
