what is the general consensus as to time ( actual estimate of hours) between rebuilds on the Briggs World Formula and what are the main differences between the different generation engines.? I understand that regular oil changes and routine valve adjustments should be done but looking for a good estimate of how many race hours are safe to run before dis-assembly and rebuild.

I've heard of people running them for 2 seasons between rebuilds. That might be pushing it.

Figure once a year provided you change your oil often and check your valve lash a few times each season.

Main differences are the updated flywheel coil. it's now a digital ignition and the flywheel is aluminum as opposed to cast iron. They're a nice stock, ready to race package.

I know this may be unfamiliar to many but if you get a leakdown gauge ( make sure it has 10 mm spark plug hole hardware ) it can help you keep track of your engine's condition , easily telling you the condition of your valves and piston rings. If you don't know much about those things make friends with someone that does and owns a leakdown gauge !!
