Hey guys,

Just curious, how many of juniors actually race, AND work on your karts.
And I dont mean spraying chain lube, and putting the kart on the stand!!! Evil or Very Mad

Im talking day to day maintance, at track prep, fine tuning, etc. I guess the real question is, do you do your own work, or is it your tuner or dad??

Im 15 and and my own Mechanic, and was just hoping I'm not the only one. Laughing

Thanks!!

Im 13 , My dads rule is that if I cant do it myself then I shouldnt race . I have changed axles , brakes , set alignment , changed tires . He ussually does it but has taught me all of the stuff . I have even sat with the engine builder Collins Racing Engines for awhile to learn the engine a little bit .

I do pretty much everything on my kart, like chassis tuning and rebuilding the motor and stuff, sometimes with the help of a friend I race with. I'm 15 BTW.

I also work on my own kart like changing motors, axles, clutches, ex.
and know how and what changes to make to the kart to make it faster Wink

My deal with my dad is that if the karts not completely ready to get on the track before we leave the house we don't go

i have 3 or 4 guys that do all that. Theres one for every part on the kart. im not lazy but im just saying theres not alot to do on a kart if its built right. if you have a well built kart theres no need. my guys are normaly sitting back and relaxing.

me and my dad do the work. cut pistons bore out cylinders etc. he is teaching me because he grew up around racing. it's fun stuff you get to know your kart better and you learn how to fix problems. 16yrs. old and learning
