My Daytona debacle has been completed nicely, as US Air screwed around with a plane-load of us in Philly, eventually canceling our flight to Toronto after numerous delays that were supported by a myriad of excuses. Sooo...I''m looking forward to ringing in the new year at the Four Points Sheraton.
US Airways is definitely off the HMG travel list. The single worst display of customer service that I've been a part of in a long time.
I had a blast in Daytona though, enjoying all the aspects for the WKA racing community. The Speedcast TV guys are great and I think the broadcast looked awesome. I have to thank them for the opportunity to get up-close and personal with the Speedway Dirt scene again...amazing racing on the new Daytona Flat Track.
I'd like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010! I'm putting the start of the year off by one day, if you don't mind. _________________ Rob Howden

| I'm surprised by the lack of advertisement or general mention of the Daytona Kartweek events.. Being new to Karting and currently trying to find a friend a shifter kart so he can compete with me I would have gone and probably seen several Karts for sale as I'm only an hour away. Kinda sour grapes I guess but thought it would have been a bigger deal. Oh well. Still looking for a shifter Kart in Florida though. TM or CR powered. |

You guys are killing me! LOL
Crazy day, Jeff. The customer service was pretty poor, but I understand totally that it was not the fault of the counter agent. She had trouble dealing with the onslaught of displeasure, that's for sure. People were MAD! We all would have liked some real updates. Honestly, with a Toronto flight in New Year's Eve, a bunch of the people here at the layover hotel would have loved to have jumped in rental cars to make it home tonight.
That said, I had no idea you worked at the airport...too bad we couldn't have hooked up. I'm back in at 8 or so tomorrow morning to catch my next flight. _________________ Rob Howden

dan, i knew that olivia beam had raced at beaverun but didn't know if she was a regular. i didn't notice O.P.'s name in any lists and haven't heard of the others. still a lot of racers that are normally at nationals that weren't there. _________________ Blaise Haynes

Not bad for a $1600. engine that lasts a year. I guess we can call them the cheap TaG's
Times will pick up some as we get more races in. Both Regan and Kevin had troubles at the end with the twin fuel tank set ups. 108 mph for a Briggs
I also was told 42 stock Animals, that was a big class _________________ Bob Vehring

There were a few regulars there that didn't race. They just came down to watch. This was our first Man Cup in 4 years, the boy finally turned 15 last month.
What a difference in the organization from when we last ran WKA. I remember it as "hurry up and wait" specially on the first day. It was nothing like that this time. We expected long lines but they kept everything moving along ahead of scheduel. Lots of rounds of practice too, more than we needed. Good job WKA
The YKC's still suck though. All that horsepower in TAG and we can't even use it on these tires. |

David,
Thanks for the updates, once again you did a great job.
Also thanks Sissy for the Enduro results. I'm sure it's a bit of a pain to do with everyting else you have going on, you need to know it's appreciated. _________________ Frankie
