Hi Chris
Didn't you read my 2009 update!! Don't know why I bother
| Ian Harrison wrote: | | Chris, read the woefully out-of-date bit under my signature. Add 4 new 2009 British lap records, winners of the 2009 MSA British Championship and 2009 UK Cup winners. Now comment on the success, competitiveness and value for money of the ubiquitous CR250. |
Ooops, late edit, forgot we also won the 2009 British Super 4 (Short circuit) Championship with Chris Pike. Sorry Chris - great job.
As I said woefully out-of-date. 2008 was similar, but I can't be arsed, might look like I'm bragging.
And your achievements are???
Here's some facts:
We have had GasGas' racing in the UK at the European Championship round at Donington in 2004 (won 1 race in the wet, a superb achievement!!).
We have GasGas' racing every year at our GP meeting combined with our good friends and visitors from the European Superracekart series.
We have 2 UK based drivers that run GasGas motors (one has just moved to cars).
None of these have at any time matched or bettered our best (which was either by Trevor, James or Sam)Honda CR250 lap times with their GasGas powered karts
The GasGas is a great motor, I would never question that as everyone knows.
Next!!
Best Regards

Hi Chris
Gaw, that took some finding!!
Here (on the right) is our first "crudely hand-carved" prototype for the '02 on which we used a bolt on flange. Obviously we didn't spend too much time on it, but it proved the priciples and from that the rubber and flange for the VF-2 (on the left) was developed.
This allowed you to fit to the '02 without having to remove the boss and web from the crankcase (which we weren't allowed to do at the time).
Now in the UK we are allowed to modify the casing, so if you want 50 or so of those rubbers you can have them very, very cheap
Best Regards

Ian, you definitely know more than me, but everything everybody on this side of the pond has said hands down that a CR can't keep with a Gas-Gas.
The results here in the US reflect that.
Maybe you need to send some of your motors over here????
My accomplishments?
Lap records: Summit Point, Carolina Motorsports Park, Loudon NHIS, Barber Motorsports Park.
WKC 125 Champion 4 times, Multi National winner and Grand National Champion......
OK I'm an arse!!!

Hi Chris
OK. I enjoyed our little bit of fun and banter!!
I would have to modestly admit that I do produce the best CR250 kart motors in the world.
I would also have to admit that the GasGas motor same as Andy's or JR's is more powerful and has a better spread of power and is smoother than any CR250 I have ever produced (so far).
But if you are racing CR's against CR's or GasGas against GasGas it dosen't matter a damn.
What matters is a balance between initial investment, reliability, servicing and repair cost and how that translates to grid size.
In the end it all boils down to the economics of the individuals both singley and as a group.
An engine dosen't make a winner. It's a combination of driver/chassis/engine/tyres/setup/weight and team.
That's why Andy and JR blow the twins running in the US with 15-20Hp more into the weeds.
I would love to bring an Anderson Viper CR250 to Miller in 2010 for Trevor. All it needs is for someone to buy it, pay up-front and take it away from Park Ferme. Otherwise perhaps Andy or JR would like to do a swap drive (we will have 2 Anderson Maverick Div 1/BRC's in 2010) and we'll see Trevor on an Anderson GasGas in the US.
Oh and that's a great driving record Chris, you must be very proud.
See Andy, I did it again
Best Regards

Hi Guys
Andy you see what I get for being "nice", complimentary and holding out the hand of friendship and understanding. From now on I'm for winding the handle
| Chris Reinhardt wrote: | | Ian, you definitely know more than me |
I can't argue with that Chris, but it's not much of a compliment is it
I also know more than a sack of horse ****

Of course your lap records are all current and your victories were against competitive fields of the countries top runners with fields of 40-60 karts in your class - - just like ours. Well Champion of 2 or 3 is no mean achievement - or is 2 or 3 even a slight overstatement
| Chris Reinhardt wrote: | | OK I'm an arse!!! |
Well you did get one thing right. You really are - -totally, utterly and completely

Never said anything different as anyone will tell you
Of course you have the authority to speak as the owner and driver of either a GasGas, CR250 or both
Chris, Go play with the other children
As for me, no further comment
Best Regards

Hi Sid
The one commodity we always run out of is time
I should have got on the dyno today, but it ain't going to happen!!
So, I'll be on with the BRC tomorrow testing the final spec that we will run in 2010 and then Thursday and Friday night it's Honda CR250 Reed Blocks. This is going to create an ongoing series regarding various aspects of CR250 development, both cylinder and crankcase induction.
Don't worry I'll keep you current
Best Regards

Hi Ian, Not sure why my name keeps getting dragged into this I do like the addition to you signature though. Keep winding the handling. It makes reading this so much more interesting. Now all we need is Sam and Ted to chime in. _________________ Andy Kiker #24
