|
|
Hello everyone. The Chassis I'm running currently (Mike Wilson) is very hard to get parts for. There isn't a kart shop locally, so the usual "go with what they support at the track" advice isn't applicable. I'd ideally like to go with one of the bigger names so I know I'll be able to find parts but most of them don't make chassis specifically for 4-cycle or World Formula (exception seems to be Arrow). I've read too many stories of having to cut tubes and whatnot so I thought I'd ask what everyone is running and whether or not it had to be modified to accept the WF motor.
We run YHC tires on a fairly high-speed track. Budget would be roughly $2500 to maybe $5500, but would prefer to stay lower.
Thanks! |

I'm looking to get into karting next year sometime and WF is what I'm leaning towards at the moment.
The local karting shop in my area (Kart-O-Rama) sells the Arrow AX9-4S for use with the WF. That's probably what I'll end up getting. |

You can get the Mike Wilson parts from Shockwave. Their chassis have been based off of the Mike Wilson chassis and carry all of the components.
Tony Kart and Kosmic seem to be the chassis of choice in so. cal in world formula. _________________ ART Grand Prix America Team Manager

| You might take a look at this thread. It talks about using a 4s on a 2s chassis without modifying the chassis. It might give you more options.[/url] |

The Arrow is a solid kart and for the racer from WA, Roger at Kart O Rama is great to deal with and will be found at just about every big race. Kart O Rama is a huge supporter of the sport, and they operate exactly how you would want a kart shop to operate. With over 20 years experience in the sport, I do not say that lightly.
I run a Margay Brava 4.9 with the new heim style front in and am having good success. Buy American whenever when you can.
Ital also makes a 4-cycle kart. |

| I hav ebeen using the Arrow 4S chassis at the gold cup with the world formula since the class started last year and have had great success. No changes are necessary to get the engine to work on the kart. I have experience with all of the other american made karts and I would easily take the Arrow over any of them based on speed and ease of tuning. Contact Ben Beasley about new or used karts. He is located in Cleveland, Ohio. 440-357-6644 |

The Intrepid MT01 is an awesome kart for World formula as well. Parts are readily available from Intrepid dealers nationwide.
