|
|
I am new here so, understand my ignorance.
I am trying to buy a TAG go kart CRG Heron that is out of my state and i must go and pick it up. I own a 2000 Chevy Blazer. With the rear sits folder down I measured 71 inches in length and about 50 inches in width of available space.
My question is will this kart fit inside my truck?
I know i could rent a truck or a trailer to go and pick it up, I am looking at waht am I going to do once I get it home and want to take it to the track.
I figure that by removing the rear tires, front bumper and side bumpers, the kart should fir right in? Right???
All of you guys have trailers??? There must be someone out there that uses his/her SUV to transport a kart.
Thanks for your help. |

Well, the 50 in width is the killer. You will have to take the rear wheels and possibly the side pods off. I do it all the time so dont worry about it. SO I guess the answer to your question is YES ! LOL By the way, I use a Chrysler Pacifica _________________ Faitzmotorsports.com |

Shouldn't be a problem. I have seen a shifter kart in the back of a Honda Civic.
You may have to remove the side pods and rear wheels to get it in. _________________ Patrick Hubbell

It'll go on top of a Chevy Blazer pretty easily, just get a couple guys to help you lift it. Many hands make light work, a 200 lb kart isn't too bad split four ways. _________________ "If you're still in full control, you're not going fast enough" - Fred Frame |

You will have to take off the nose or rear bumper to fit in 71", 72" is typical for length. Obviously pods will be off as a TaG kart is typically 54" wide at the rear wheels or widest part of the pods.

Once you have the kart inside do you have any space for a tool box?
Thanks |

Should be no problem. As people have said, remove the nose. As for the 50 inch width, again remove the pods, and just bring the hubs in all the way. You can also mount the tires backwards on the hubs which will shorten the width considerably.
I carry my 80cc shifter in the back of a 93 Explorer. _________________ Only when the checkered flag goes down do I give up. Second means nothing to me - Max Papis

You would be surprised by how much extra gear you can pile in on top of the kart....streeter stand, fuel jug, spare set of tyres, and I've got a Home Depot brand soft tool bag that rests right up on the back tyre!
Now get that kart into that Blazer, and get to the track!!!! _________________ Franz Reck
