Bill Wright,

Regarding Jamie Sieraki, he ran Tag at MWSS two weeks ago, and I recall he ran Tag at the Dousman Man Cup last year.

Thanks Steve. Very Happy

Just heard that Keith Freber raced the "big" track--first time in 19 years and was running for first, second, and then third place when the pipe broke and that was that. Guess Margay Chassis won 5 classes and had a very good showing in most classes--especially the junior classes. I did notice Michelle Bumgarner, the licensed Firestone Indy Lights driver, had some nice finishes on her Margay karts. Exactly how old are you now, Keith? Stay 29 forever, like Alan Rudolph!

I'm still sore today! It was very very bumpy but overall, the track layout is fantastic. The track isn't so bad when no rubber is on it. We showed up for Friday practice and were 40lbs over (I need to hit the gym harder.....) but still ran about 1.3 seconds off. On Saturday we raced can and by this time, the rubber was on the track, mind you it was laid very unevenly. Of course, the kart would hop at the bottom portion of the track because it would grab the rubber and rebound badly (I wasn't the only one who was getting this). When we hit the hotel, my sides were deep red with internal bleeding. We still woke up Sunday to race HPV Heavy. In the final, it was so bad I almost hopped off the track at the top of the hill and it was also pretty violent through turns 8 9 and 10. I'm still sore from the rough ride but I will say the track layout is fantastic and I had a lot of fun. It was also my first time seeing the folks from Tony Kart Florida (thanks Andre!) and they were very welcoming and helpful. Overall the weekend was a blast and I wouldn't mind coming back in the future- I will get in better shape for the track!!!

I hope to see a good turnout at New Castle! I know that a bumpy track surface will not be on the horizon thanks to the Dismores!

We should have the Mfr Cup event data posted to mylaps by the end of the week - possibly sooner. Road Race data was posted yesterday.

Thanks! sis

The track isn't that rough. There are spots where its bumpy (the crossover) but other than that the rest of the track is pretty smooth. However with all the elevation change, it really is hard on your body. I've always loved the Motorplex and I think the layout is really fun to drive. I had a great time this weekend, even if it didn't go as I had planned. Smile

I'm with TJ on this one. Other than the crossover in T7 I really didn't notice any bumps out of the ordinary for a kart track.

I had only raced a kart twice in five years before this weekend, so there was the general shock to my body that I was expecting (especially being 30 lbs over in HPV Heavy), but overall; I'm feeling fine two days later when in the past I was often hurting from other tracks on the national schedule. With that said, I did rip apart and remod my 10+ year old Sparco rib vest to make it a bit more snug around my ribcage, as my upper body was swinging around a bit more than I would have liked coming through the corkscrew turn. I can't say the bumps affected my results any, as I was honestly waaaay out of shape and my own worst enemy heading into the weekend. It doesn't help when you're pulling 16,700 RPM in the draft up the hill either. Opps! Razz

Lastly, I just want to thank everyone that helped me out this weekend. With my Dad out of service as my mechanic due to his commitments with WKA, I had a lot of people who helped me out over the course of the weekend from all over the paddock (they must have known how mechanically inept I was!) For that I am forever grateful.

It's good to be back. Thanks to everyone at WKA, Road America, Mazda, all the Mfg. Cup sponsors and all the volunteers for making the event happen. With that said, my thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of Charles "Bill" Grant...

Respectfully Yours,

Jacques N. Dresang

I have raced with RAKC since it started some 8 or 9 years ago and have been only to 3 other local tracks during my karting time, but after my first race at the MotorPlex I was totally hooked on the track. Is the track the best in world I doubt it, but it is very different then any other tracks that I've seen in person or online, how many tracks have you climb a hill and on the way down throw a blind falling away 90 degree corner followed by a dropping corkscrew turn at you? I have run at USAIR, very nice with the roller coaster sections and all, and Dousman nice and smooth but to me I still like the MotorPlex best. I did receive sore ribs my first race there by taking to much curbing and learned early on that a hard shell type rib protector like the old tillet wrap around was a must, since then I have not had any problems, even with a shifter. I know and they know that the lower section of the track has gotten rough (lowest grade of the track) with Wisconsin winters not helping, and they are trying to fix those area's (I think a 100k donation should do it) just kidding?

I must say I enjoyed watching you guys try to master the track that I have run so many laps on, and hope you all come back in years to come!

As for me I'm a little to old, a little to fat and a little to slow for you hot shots.
