I've searched and checked out the FAQ's and can't find out why my sent PM's seem to sit in my out box. So, I don't know if they are sent or not??? Do they have to be read before they go into the sent box?

| Yes, as soon as they are read they move to sent. |

Correct. Just as Michael stated. They will be there until the recipient reads the message.
