I've got a 2009 Escape that will be my tow vehicle... but haven't picked up a trailer yet. Borrowed my buddy's Nissan Titan yesterday.

I put my Kart in my 2005 Odessey. I put a 4x8x3/8" sheet of plywood after removing all the seats. You remove the pods and nose and rear wheels. leave the front wheels on but tie down the steering with straps. It slides right in from your kart stand. _________________ Let's Fly!!! |

| I use a BMW 335i pulling a 4x8 harbor freight trailer. Works great and gets between 25 and 30 MPG on the highway. There's the added benfit of two turbos and 300+ horsepower too! I put two karts on the trailer (sideways) and the fuel, tools and gear in the trunk. I have to put my pop up tent/canopy in the back seat. I still need to come up with some way to get my kart stand onto/under/over the trailer. |

had to dig this up to post my "rig" - is there some sort of "hardcore karter award" here?
Spun a bearing in the miata though and just bought this
an 03 gmc safari, fits the shifter in the back without taking any body panels or wheels off plus all my tools, and at night a queen sized air mattress fits in the back perfectly while the kart sits on a stand under a cover [/img] _________________ ItalKart SuperSonic V. In all honesty how did the miata tow that ~400lbs of weight?
PS, would be hardcore if you attached the trailer to the miata with zip ties only. Then hardcore award awarded. _________________ CKR/KZ

Was actually about 550lbs, and it towed it pretty effortlessly. I mean I wouldn't go cross country with it like that, but really as long as you are careful its fine. I've heard of people towing enclosed uhaul trailers with their miatas, now that's pretty crazy because of the drag increase on the highway. My setup towed just fine for 2+ hours on the highway with a minimal decrease in milage. Just have to keep your head up and anticipate braking and whatnot. If I did it really frequently and for long periods of time I'm sure there would be a bit of additional wear on the drivetrain, but nothing that preventitive maintenance wouldn't handle. You've got to think that at every time trial and track event I did with that car that the drivetrain took an equally harsh beating.
Granted, the van is much more comfortable and practical (it can haul more gear). It was pretty tough racing for a full day then loading up and strapping myself into those kirkey racing seats and 5pt harnesses for a 90 minute drive home lol _________________ ItalKart SuperSonic V. I tow with my 2010 Subaru Forrester 5 spec manual. I had my mechanic add a class 3 hitch with a 2" receiver. My trailer is a leftover 2011 Mission all aluminum ATV trailer designed to load 2 ATV'S using a ramp which mounts underneath....and locks. Has 5/8 " marine plywood decking with 4 D rings flush mounted for straps. Unladen, the trailer weight is approx. 300lbs.I also have a spare wheel/tire mounted and a nose wheel. The deck size is 7ft w x 8.5 ft long with a 2bars that run all across the front. It has 205/60/8 tires(feels strange to write that......LOL) and the wheels have grease nipples under covers right up front.
I don't know the weight of a Yamaha KT100 powered
Kart but I stick my folding kart stand, rains and the rest of my stuff in my Forrester with the backs seats folded down....and I don't think that the whole load can be much over 500lbs. Tows easily with the 170hp Subie.
I walk the trailer up to the hitch before I load the kart.....and that works quite well. I really like the quality of the Mission trailers which are made indoors in Maine. |

| I do not have any pictures, but I saw that someone made a homemade cargo carrier to hold a kart. |
